MANAGEMENT
I obtained the rank of Sergeant at Bartow County EMS and was up for promotion
to Lieutenant when I resigned in order to pursue a degree in nursing.

TO PRESENT
I am responsible for teaching/assisting students in grades K-12. I have
experience with diversity in the classroom. I also have had the opportunity to
mentor/tutor students while at the schools.
REGISTERED NURSE | ROME GI | 2005-2012
My responsibilities included patient care which included patient triage prior to
their outpatient procedures, patient care during recovery post procedure and I
was also responsible for patient care during the procedures. Patient care prior to
procedure included obtaining detailed medical history, obtaining IV access and
administering IV fluids and medications. I assisted the doctors performing the
procedures and was responsible for all specimen retrieval, biopsies, patient
sedation and medical documentation. I was also responsible for monitoring the
patients vital signs while under sedation. Post procedure/recovery
responsibilities included monitoring patient vital signs, medical documentation,
and preparing the patient for discharge.
During my employment at Rome GI, I was instrumental in the implementation of
Electronic Health Records. I worked very closely with the staff, the administrator
and the physicians to help choose an appropriate EMR software company and I
worked very hard to ensure a smooth transition for everyone. I did this while
maintaining all patient confidentiality.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN/PARAMEDIC 1995-2012
I started out as an EMT-Basic, providing basic life support, emergency care for
patients during transport to and from medical facilities. I worked for 2 years as a
basic before continuing my education to become certified as a Paramedic.
As an EMT-Paramedic , I provided advanced life support and emergency care for
patients during transport to and from medical facilities. I also have experience
as a paramedic providing patient care in the emergency room, in a private
medical office setting and I have experience working in a laboratory inside a
medical office.
As an EMT-Paramedic, I maintained certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Prehospital Trauma
Life Support (PHTLS). I was also a certified CPR instructor, ACLS instructor, PALS
instructor, and PHTLS instructor.
