Ownership of personal property alone is usually insufficient to permit the
exercise of jurisdiction unless the defendant can be considered respon sible
for its presence in the state. Thus, jurisdiction may not be exercised over the owner when the property has been brought into the state without his or her knowledge or consent, until the owner learns of its presence and has had a reasonable opportunity to reclaim it.
