Video 1: How to Solve Proportions
7:12
http://www.teachertube.com/video/how-to-solve-proportions-431710
This video is about pretty much exactly what the title says, it teaches you step by
step how to solve proportions.
Arkansas framework: AR.Math.Content.7.RP.A.2-Recognize and represent proportional
relationships between quantities.
Decide whether two quantities are in a proportional relationship (e.g., by
testing for equivalent ratios in a table or graphing on a coordinate plane and
observing whether the graph is a straight line through the origin).
Identify unit rate (also known as the constant of proportionality) in
tables, graphs, equations, diagrams, and verbal descriptions of
proportional relationships.
Represent proportional relationships by equations (e.g., If total cost t is
proportional to the number n of items purchased at a constant price p, the
relationship between the total cost and the number of items can be
expressed as t = pn).
Explain what a point (x, y) on the graph of a proportional relationship means in terms
of the situation, with special attention to the points (0, 0) and (1, r) where r is the unit
rate
AR.Math.Content.7.RP.A.3-Use proportional relationships to solve multi-step ratio and
percent problems.

I could use this video to teach my students by just like in the second video
have it as kind of a review. It would slow the pace down of the class but would also
be a different voice talking to them. I have found in my teaching experience that
students like videos and would probably listen better if they had a video to watch
and review with. It would also let kids struggling to understand the method of cross
multiplying the proportion a lot of examples for practice and see it and have
someone other than me explain it to them. It is very simple and would break it down
step by step for the students who arent getting it.

Video 2: Solving Logarithmic equations

7:17
http://www.teachertube.com/video/solving-logarithmic-equations-with-logarithmson-one-side-431642

This video is also pretty self-explanatory. It teaches a simple step by step way to
solve logarithmic equations
Arkansas Frameworks: ELF.3.AIII.3- Solve, with and without appropriate technology,
equations and real world problems involving exponential and logarithmic
expressions graphically, algebraically and numerically
F.6.PC.3-Understand the inverse relationship between exponents and logarithms.
Use the inverse relationship between exponents and logarithms to solve problems.

I will use this video to teach my students by kind of using it as a review at the end of my lesson.
Maybe as an elaboration, because it is going over all the log rules and ways to solve different problems.
So I think it would be helpful for every student if they had an opportunity to practice more rules to get
better at noticing different rules they can use to solve these logarithmic problems. Also, like in the first
video it was very slow so it would also be helpful for the kids who may be struggling to get the material. I
think it would be a nice change of pace for them and get them thinking but also slow down the learning
process and allow to catch up.
