We, the students of the University of Northern Philippines under the B.S. Biology program as part of our
histology class, are requesting for your approval for an observation of an embalming session when it is
available as part of our education on the processes of tissue preservation. Currently there is no
laboratory equipped for such purpose in the university such that of a cadaver so we chose to visit a
funeral to observe how embalming is done. We are aware that such activity requires the respect from
participants as the process involved the remains of a human being. This being said we also ask for you
permission to take pictures when possible as part of our documentation.
There will be ten (10) observers excluding the accompanying instructor in histology. In any case that
there is still no body to be embalmed, we kindly request you to communicate with us whenever one is
