Bigfoot Cinderella read aloud online
ANTICIPATORY SET: (2 points) I will have the books pulled up online and
my computer open so that they are wondering what we are going to do with
it.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: (2 points)

Today we are going to listen to two different stories and find similarities and
difference in them.
TEACHER INSTRUCTION: (2 points)
Ask students if they have ever seen or read Cinderella. Do you guys
remember this story very well? What were some of the main points in that
story? Discuss the story with the students in order and highlight some areas
that they forget.
We are going to take a story we know and love and compare and contrast it
with a story that is similar but has some strange difference.
Can someone tell me some ways that we could think out on paper similarities
and difference?
We are going to be specifically working with venn diagrams and how they
can help us sort out this thoughts of similarities and differences.
Bring out venn diagram for modeling and practicing. First we will discuss the
similarities and difference in cats and dogs. Guide students to put the
similarities under the main head and the differences in the overlapping
areas. Ask students if there are other ways to use venn diagrams other than
circles. Using one of their ideas make a venn diagram on their own about
them and their siblings.
After students discuss their diagrams they will then watch the actual
Cinderella book online. After it finished discussed if it was the same as they
remembered and if their were any differences from the book and the movie.
Then have students watch the Bigfoot Cinderella book online. After this have
them discuss what happened in the book. Verbally ask students what were
some of the similarities and differences in the two. Have the students
individually write the similarities and difference on their venn diagram.
When they are finished as a group the students will then talk what they put
under each categories.
CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING: (2 points) Have students give me and
example from the two stories.
APPLICATION/GUIDED PRACTICE/INDEPENDENT PRACTICE: (2 points)
Students will work together to fill out a venn diagram using the two
Cinderella stories.
CLOSURE: (2 points) Today we talked about venn diagrams and this can
help you in your day to day life or help you with your writing. Hopefully you

can use this within your journals or making a tough decisions you may have
in your life.
