Executive Summary
We feel as if we have something to offer the EGSO organization. We analyzed the
English Graduate Student Organization website and made adequate notes on improvement
opportunities. For example, a new cover picture, pictures of all the officers, a recent list of all the
officers, less wording, and an informational video, were among the suggestions. The videos
objective would be to inform people who visit the EGSO website, and inform the audience of the
organization. In addition, the English Student Graduate Organization needs to make their own
social media accounts separate from the English department. The EGSO can promote the English
department on their social media accounts and get all of the English department followers to
follow the EGSO pages. Lastly, traditional promotional materials can be utilized to promote the
reputation and existence of EGSO. After implementation of these changes, EGSO can expect
significant improvement in membership recruitment and involvement.
Problems
The EGSO organization has a few issues with their website that need to be addressed. By
simply looking at the website, it seems to have too many words and not enough visual aids to
help communicate EGSO core values. For instance, the list of organization officers are outdated
by two years with no information about them included. Aside from the information presented on
the website, the pictures that are provided do not accurately depict what the organization does or
represents. Furthermore, the organizations social media accounts are not owned by EGSO. The
social media accounts associated with EGSO should be organization specific. There are serious
repercussions that come as a result of these issues. For instance, some may not want to spend the
time to read all of the information given and some may assume the officers of the organization
are not dedicated and involved consistently. Lastly, EGSO lacks any utilization of promotional
materials. This includes materials such as flyers, brochures, pamphlets, and more. The associated
stakeholders will benefit if this organization implements our recommendations. If EGSO takes a
look at these simple problems, their website, social media and promotion can be improved
drastically in a short amount of time, which will further satisfy stakeholders.
Solutions
After careful evaluation of the English Graduate Student Organization we have come up
with many solutions. First, the EGSO needs to make serious changes to the website, which is
where most people will go to find out more about the organization. They need to update the
officers, pictures, and outdated information on the organization's website bio. They could also
delete some of the less important information to make the website slightly less wordy and a little
more inviting. This would involve some simple reformatting of the current website to make the
site more user-friendly. The EGSO has multiple social media accounts, which is good, but they
are extremely outdated. EGSO could consider adding another position to their executive board,
which would update the social media accounts regularly. In addition, this officer would be in
charge of promotional materials and events in order to further promote the organization. In
addition, the EGSO should consider setting up a booth in around campus where they could pass
out traditional promotional products and recruit to members.

Results
After the implementation of our proposed solutions, the English Graduate Student Organization
can expect to see an increase in new membership interest. With the additions of an updated social
media, new promotional materials, and a website overhaul, the reputation and overall good name
of EGSO will increase significantly. Furthermore, with these organizational changes the flow of
communication within the English Graduate Student Organization will improve immensely. This
will allow members to know the latest news and updates from EGSO, creating a well-informed
membership base. Emphasis on these changes and their implementation will create an EGSO that
everyone will enjoy for years to come.

EGSO Promotional Plan

Introduction
In the following contents of this document, a promotional plan will be laid
out for the English Graduate Student Organization. It will be comprised
primarily of three parts: a timeline for implementation, social media plan
mockup, website redesign, and traditional promotional materials. Each of
these parts will attempt to make use of an important resource that has yet
to be fully utilized.
Audience
The target audience for these promotional renovations and materials are
potential and existing members of the English Graduate Student
Organization. The objective is to get these people to notice the organization
and how it could benefit them.
Timeline for Implementation
Implementing the social media and website changes are to be immediate.
Once changes are made, regular social media posting should be followed
according to the social media mockup below. The website should be
maintained on a monthly basis to include the latest events, news, and
organizational business (see social media mockup below).
Secondly, the implementation of traditional promotional materials should be
done at times of peak interest. For instance, many new graduate students
would likely be interested in joining EGSO at the start of every semester.
Utilizing traditional promotional materials, such as the examples below, will
inform the target audience of EGSO and what the organization stands for. In
addition, further development of traditional promotional materials should be
a priority. For example, some other promotional materials might include
banners, stickers, event tables, and more.
