beliefs, traditions, and customs of Islam? How did geography influence the rapid expansion of
territory under Muslim rule? How did political and cultural geography facilitate trade and cultural
activity in the early Islamic lands?
Teach the Lesson:
E) Activities:
1. Morning Eye Opener
2. Finish and review the walk thru from the day before
3. Pass out the maps and have the list on the board so they know what to look up. Have
them copy the list so they can just write the letter and keep from cluttering their map up.
When the majority of them are done individuals will come up and map on the board.
Then we will go over that once or twice so that it is ingrained in their minds.
4. Look at the link below. Take notes on the modified ppt. https://www.tes.com/teachingresource/introduction-to-islam-6164212
5. Do the crossword puzzle that is about all of the religions. Everything from the texts that
they value to some of the things they worship. This will help us keep all of the various
religions we have studied fresh in our minds.
6. Start looking at quizlet for the flashcards.
F) Materials needed: map, computer projector, crossword puzzle
G) Check of Understanding: The crossword puzzle will actually help me see if they understand
things about all the religions and if they are able to keep them separate.
Lesson Closure:
H) Conclusion of Lesson: review the highlights of the things that were covered in that day. Let
them know that there will be flashcards posted in the evening if they want to start looking at
those.
I) Reinforcement: the flashcards will help with the reinforcement.
Self Evaluation of Lesson: This lesson went fairly well. Religions are difficult to teach especially
in todays culture. It is difficult to teach without stepping on the toes of some and making sure
everyone gets the material, this is difficult with all religions.
