Background: The incidence of natural disasters that occur in Indonesia, especially in
the city of Palu caused many deaths. The condition of natural disaster victims can worsen or lead to death if not treated quickly. Handling is carried out as a basic life support to sustain the life of someone under life threatening situation. Based on the functions of the National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) in the case of disaster victim evacuation, which is to provide early rescue action before escorted to the hospital, then members BASARNAS should give BLS to victims of natural disasters. Objective: To know the knowledge level in members of the National Search and Rescue Agency regarding basic life support in Palu. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design. Sampling was conducted by total sampling technique. Numbers of samples were 31 members of BASARNAS Palu. The research instrument used was a questionnaire regarding level of knowledge, which is classified based on the level of knowledge by Bloom's taxonomies (remembering, understanding, application, analyzing). Results: The results showed that 30 (96.8%) study subjects reached the knowledge level of remembering; 29 people (93.5%) study subjects reached the knowledge level of understanding; 31 (100%) study subjects reached the knowledge level of application; and 8 (25.8%) study subjects reached the knowledge level of analyzing. Conclusion: Most staff of the rescue operation reached a knowledge level ranging from the level remembering, understanding and application. The highest percentage of knowledge level in the staff of the rescue operation is the level application, and the lowest percentage of knowledge level in SAR field operation staff is the level of application.
