I am writing to you display my references for the topic of my assignment in an
annotated bibliography. My list is as follows:

innovation in the entities of the third sector. Journal of Electronic Commerce in

In this article, the author details the introduction of telework into a third sector
company. It can provide for inter and intra-organizational communication and developing
networks and links between employees.Telework has allowed for more efficient
collaboration between employees and encourages a horizontal relationship throughout an
organization. The article included the incidence of tele work internationally, and
highlighted the differences between traditional and networked system. The article
discusses network tele working for its speed of transmission of information for
international organizations and the ability to respond quickly, especially during
catastrophes or natural disasters. To conclude, the further adaptation of tele work will
increase when further studies strengthen its effectiveness.
The article presented many great benefits of teleworking and provides evidence to
support claims. The article thoroughly introduced teleworking before expressing research
question. This article is directed towards a general audience, as the writing language was
quite objective and subtle. The research in the article is derived from many external
sources, declaring this a secondary source. There is no clear conclusion of the research
question but that there is further research needed to be conducted.
Brittany, H. M., & MacDonnell, R. (2012). Is telework effective for organizations?
Management Research Review, 35(7), 602-616.

The purpose of this article is to review the effectiveness of teleworking for many
organizations based of multidisciplinary literature. This article outlines the positive
relationship between teleworking and organizational outcomes. There was a small
increase in employee retention, productivity, organizational performance and
commitment. The benefit is not substantial enough for many organizations to modify
their current models but, allows for innovation in organization.

This article is relevant because it is one of the first Meta-analysis of tele working
at an organizational level and serves as a contribution to the study of this topic. The
information is from another primary source because it is a meta-analysis review. Since it
is a review, this article will provide statistical proof by comparing the results of many
different studies to display a correlation. The research articles used for analysis must
contain certain requirements to be used in the study. An issue with using a meta-analysis
article is that some articles may be vaguely related to topic, which can reduce the
accuracy of analysis. This type of article is best suited for a researcher or expert in this
field of study.
Caillier, J. G. (2011). The Impact of Teleworking on Work Motivation in a
U.S. Federal Government Agency. The American Review of Public
Administration, 42(4), 461-480. Doi:
10.1177/0275074011409394
The purpose of this study is discovering the association between teleworking
arrangements and work motivation in a federal government agency. Caillier is trying to
prove that frequent teleworkers present with higher levels of job motivation based on the
principle of reciprocity. The author used online surveys sent to employees of federal
agencies to gather data for ones hypothesis. In conclusion, other social exchange
methods have proven to be a larger impact on work motivation.
This article was a primary source because the author conducted the survey and
presented the methods. The author took into consideration the dependent variables that
may influence the results of the study. Callier used several statistical charts to show
contrast between the different categories and variables presented. Also, this article
provided an impartial perspective, was thoroughly referenced, and provided detailed
explanations of results. This study had fine relevance because many federal organizations
allow for tele-working for increased flexibility.
Campbell, J., & Heales, J. (2016). Factor Structure of Individual Consequences for
Teleworking Professionals. Australasian Journal of Information Systems, 20. Doi:
http://dx.doi.org/10.3127/ajis.v20i0.906
In this article, the authors are trying to investigate the personal factors that impact
a professional to utilize tele working. The assessment of the individual factors like work
commitment, self assurance, working with others, work pressure, professional image and
effectiveness will help refine the current model. This article utilized an extensive list of
articles for cross analysis. Furthermore, the article states that this topic needs to be further
researched alongside behavior of frequent tele workers to gain support for theory.
This article used a cross sectional analysis to compare results from several sample
studies which categorizes this study as a secondary source. There was an extensive
introduction of the history of tele work and its recent developments. This study is targeted

for an academic student or specialized individual because of lofty vocabulary and
detailed chart diagrams. This article articulates more intrinsically into the individual
workers style and characteristics and supplements previous research on this topic.

This article analyses the various factors (satisfaction, performance, and
productivity) of the teleworking experience and its success. This article uses a nonexperiential method of web-based surveys from employees from different companies in
the United States. The number of days worked in a week is the biggest determinant for
teleworking success. Additionally, the author concludes that the employee training and
specific experience are significant in the success of the teleworking model.
This article uses a non-experiential method of web-based surveys from employees
from different companies in the United States. The author states that this is the first
article to evaluate the telework experience and success. This provides credibility to the
article because there have been countless scholarly articles published on this topic but not
as specific. Although, this article is still a primary source because this study was
conducted by authors using web-based surveys. Additionally, the surveys questions were
previously tested for validity by previous studies.
