Dear Madam Hajah Lutf iah Mahfod,
We are pleased to invite one teacher and three students of SMK AB KL to attend our Annual Celebration of
Indonesian Education Day to be held on May 2, 2013. Hopefully, our school tradition on this event and the
attendance as well as the involvement of delegation of SMKAB Kuala Lumpur could provide a profound
contribution in the efforts of strengthening our friendship and providing our childrens best benefits, both
Malaysian and Indonesian children.
National Education Day is to commemorate the birth anniversary of Ki Hajar Dewantoro, an eminent
educationist, a great freedom fighter, and the first Education Minister. His wise words Ing Ngarso Sung
Tulodo, Ing Madyo Mangun Karso, Tut Wuri Handayani (Di depan memberi teladan, di tengah memberi
bimbingan, di belakang memberi dorongan) has officially been used as an Indonesian leadership philosophy
being attached on the logo of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.
On the day, we have an official flag-raising ceremony in which we submit awards that would honor teachers and
students for their best achievement. We continue the day by sharing experience and ideas on education matters
with your delegation as well as introducing SMAN 14 Surabayas programs that enable us to achieve
appreciation from the parents, government and other educational institutions. We, then, close the day by cultural
shows from both SMKAB Kuala Lumpur and SMAN 14 Surabaya.
I am delighted to inform you that we are able to sponsor one teacher and three students for the return plane
ticket of Air Asia and their accommodation during their stay in Surabaya. However, we would be also glad to
facilitate the accommodation for another teacher and other three students, if you could provide them with return
plane tickets.
We hope to deserve your school teachers and students attendance. Being deeply honored with their presence in
the event mentioned above, we look forward to seeing them in May 2013.
