Four ELL support teachers


The ELL teachers can pull the ELLs from the
classrooms for 30-60 minutes
The leftover money goes to resources for ELL teachers
needs
One ELL teacher per grade during ELA block
First- fifth grade : 10:30-11:30
Third grade: 2:00-3:00

Responsibilities: Teach the students based on their


needs and align the teaching to the regular ELA
classroom
The ELL teacher and regular classroom teacher will
communicate often to ensure their alignment.

Distribution of ELL Students in Classes


Five ELL students per class
Twenty ELL students per grade

Parental Involvement

Parents will be involved with the students educations.


The teachers will have newsletters in each language
The teachers will each have websites
The school will REQUIRE that parents come to quarterly
parent-teacher meetings
The teachers will encourage parents to reach out if they
have any questions
The school will inquire any translators when necessary
The teachers will encourage parents to assist their
students by having the parents sign tests and homework
assignments.

Bilingual education: Spanish & English


Language: Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese
Most teachers will speak another language
Three strategies:
strategic group work
clear expectations for using each language
content and language objectives (SIOP)
preserving cultural and linguistic heritage
