Course Description

: INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN AND FUNDAMENTAL SKETCHING


This course provides instruction and information on Trade Drawing- 122 which includes advanced technique
used in the preparation of working drawing such as : Orthographic, Dimensioning Drawing Scale, Blueprint
Reading and Isometric Drawing. This includes sketching/ interpreting of engineers/ concept/ ideas of jobs and
final drafting in inking. This prepares the student to use technical drawing as a tool in the communication
process in different areas of technical.

General Objectives:
1. Elucidate the principles of trade drawing as a a tool in the communication process in different areas.
2. Achieve skills in the proper use of drawing tools and equipment.
3. Obtain skills in identifying materials prior to designing, lettering and freehand sketching.
4. Enlarge skills in producing quantitative and qualitative working drawings.
5. Confer the basic principles of working drawings preparations.
7. Gain skills in the development of technology products through research apprehend the need to develop new technology in trade and technical
drawing.
8. Internalize the value and benefit of having output.

Specific Objectives:
1. Converse the principles of general trade drawing, methods and techniques in preparing working drawings also included.
2. Develop the love of work especially in sketching/designing/concept/ ideas of jobs and final drafting and inking.
3. Build up the awareness of careful use of tools, equipment and instruments.
4. Acquire skills in designing, lettering and freehand sketching.
5. Recognize the tools and materials use in drafting technology.
6. Gain skills in advanced technique used in the preparation of working drawing.
7. Fabricate a qualitative output in designing, lettering and freehand sketching.

A Attendance
Students are not allowed to have 20% or more absences of the total class hours otherwise; they will be graded as follows:
Dropped (if majority of the excessive absences are an excuse)
Failed (if majority of the excessive absences are an excuse)
B. Decorum
Students are required to:

wear their identification cards and observe proper dress code at all times;

turn off or put in silent mode their cellular phones during class hours;

maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the room at all times and

come to class on time.

Long examination are always announced

Cheating is strictly prohibited. As student who is caught cheating will be given score of zero for first offense. For the second offense he/she will
automatically fail the subject.

Student who missed exams, exercises or quizzes may only excuse for any of the following reasons:
participation in a university/college approved fieldtrip or activity(must declared one week in advance);
personal illness (must present medical certificate); and
death or serious illness in the immediate family (must present death or medical certificate).
