GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
SOCIAL MEDIA TALK FOR PARENTS 2 NOVEMBER
A social media lawyer and expert will be in attendance at our Parent talk on
Wednesday 2 November at 18:30 to discuss the dangers of social media and what is
allowed and what is not allowed to be posted on these online sites by parents and
learners alike. This is an eye-opening talk and all parents are encouraged to attend.
The social media lawyer and expert is an associate of Emma Sadlier and there will
be an opportunity for a Q & A after the talk. By way of background, the area of
expertise include all aspects of print and electronic media law, with particular focus
on defamation, privacy and social media law.
We also have another guest speaker in attendance giving a talk on drugs and the
impact it has on children and what signs to look out for in their high school years.
We urge all parents to attend this very informative session.

EXAM STUDY TIMETABLE

All students (Grades 4-7) - will receive their exam study timetables at the beginning
of next week.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The schools AGM will be held in the Joubert hall on Wednesday, 19th October
2016. We encourage you to attend, as important issues will be discussed and voted
on at this meeting.
A reply slip can be found on page two of this newsletter. Please also use this slip to
raise items for discussion or answer on the same form.

There will be morning swimming lessons for everyone from 06:15-07:00 every Monday-Thursday. Swimming lessons will go on as per extramural timetable.

CRICKET
Well done to Bryce Samuel who represented Bryanston Primary, from the 30th September 2016 - 3 October 2016, at the Far North Cricket
Festival which took place at St Johns and The Ridge. He played four matches. He took one wicket and top scored with 44 runs.
