UNOFFICAL FAQ

Do you need to use a guild token to select the town watch? Is the only time you
don't use a guild token when you select one of your buildings? And if someone else
jumped into your building, can you still use it?
Yes, a guild token should be used whenever you need to mark your
actions. Actions on your owned buildings will not be marked. You cannot
double up on a buildings general action(s), even as the owner, you can
use the owners action even after someone has already used the general
action.
"After production, the equipment is left for sale and any player can acquire the
equipment by paying the owner its cost." Does owner mean the owner of the
building? Or does the player who produced the equipment own it, so to speak?
The owner is referring to building ownership.
Is it true that trading is not regulated among the players? (Therefore anyone can
trade with anyone anytime?)
Yes. I do not wish to restrain any trade offer or limit players from doing so.
Free market policy.
If a hero is killed, the owner must place one of his token on the cemetery slot, so he
can keep the hero face down. I noticed that the cemetery has limited slots and
there is possibility it slots would all be occupied. If this happened, did the killed hero
card discarded?
Regarding the cemetery building. If I had 1 hero killed, I placed the token on the
slot. And if my other hero got killed, did I need to place another token to one of the
empty slots? Or having 1 token on a slot is enough?
About the cemetery, the token placed on the cemetery is to show you have
a burial ground (a tomb) where all of your Heroes may find their peace. So
you put one token for all (kept faced down) dead Heroes.
At the beginning of the game, no one has a private dungeon, right? The maximum
number of private dungeon opened is 2(the two represented on the board)? To
close a private dungeon, I have to use 1 action and take back my guild token?
Yes and Yes.
In the activating phase, the players carry out one building's activation or
equipment's buy, in turn order, right? (example: first A, then B, C, D, then A,B and

so on). After the activation of a general action in a neutral/other guild's building, I

take back my guild marker?
Yes, except the Black Market.
The right procedure of production in the Market/blacksmith/Tower is:
a) In the actions phase, place the citizens on the corresponding general action
space;
b) In the activation phase, when I activate the action, the equipment is produced
Yes.
It's possible to buy the equipment available, both in the actions phase and in the
activation phase, right?
Yes.
It's not clear to me when an item is turned 90-degrees. In the rulebook when the
Rogue uses the Arrows of Doom to add its bonus attack die, should the arrows be
turned 90-degrees?
Yes or flip it down anyway that you can remember that you already used it
A green die placed on a hero to absorb a hit, must remain there until the hit is
absorbed, or the player can choose to reroll the dice?
You can fix the die on a target hero card until it absorbs a hit, but you can
also re-roll it whenever the round of initiative will return to the particular
Heroes turn to roll, its optional.
Do + attack / fixed attack bonus / + defense/ + hit points, stay whole battle?
+attack /+ defensive dice/ + hit points, stay for the remainder of that
battle.
Fixed attack bonus can be used once, as a Hero can only use it once a
battle.
The mana potion gives 2 attack dice to wizards and clerics as an ongoing effect and heals a wound for everybody else as an instant effect. But what if I use it in the
middle of the fight?
According to the player aid I discard the mana potion at the end of the encounter
when I use the attack dice - and instantly when I use the healing effect.
So when I use the attack dice, can I still use the healing effect? (then lose the attack
dice as the card is instantly discarded?)

This card can use both effects in the same fight, you can use the healing
side instantly, just tag it sideways so you will remember that you already
used the healing action, and bonus attack dice (Cleric, Wizard) continue
until you finish the battle/encounter, then you discard it.
Telekinesis Scroll - I use one more attack die with my wizard.
a) Can I still use the instant effect of one re-roll?
b) If I do that, can I keep the added attack die for the wizard until the end of the
battle/encounter?
Telekinesis - same thing as the mana potion. You can use all bonuses at
the same battle/encounter.
Can a hero "level up" more than once?
Do you place a guild token and the workers and any gold required on the action at
the same time?
Does the building's owner place workers and/or gold on an action to indicate he is
going to do it?
If a creature's die could hit one of several heroes, do you get to choose which one
gets hit?
Yes to all.
Can you take back your gold (that you placed on the action space) if you decide in
phase 2 (Activation) that you don't want to do the action?
No.
Does the Activation phase end when all the activations have been performed, or
does it continue until all players pass? (It may happen that all the activations are
done, but players still want to buy items.)
Until all players pass.
When people buy items during the activation phase, do they buy them all at once,
or just one per turn? I would assume you buy them one at a time, but the rulebook
says "anyone who wishes may use their turn to buy new Items or Instants", which
seems to say that on one turn you may buy several items.
One at a time (once per turn to act).
Exploring rules says, "Once placed, the party cannot be changed". Does this mean if
I move on to a second adventure, I have to keep the party just the same as at the
first adventure, with no changes?

No, every adventure gets a new party setup.

If a city downgrades to a town, is the city adventure card discarded?
Not discarded, it stays as it is still affecting the city.
Do you only draw a new Village adventure card if the current Village adventure card
has been defeated, or do you always add another card?
You draw an adventure only for a vacant adventure position (that
corresponds to the city state lava lamp color).
Is there a way to keep track of VP or is it just counted up at the end of the game?
Count at the end.
One building lets you buy a citizen. Do you turn around and place them right away?
No, you will place it in the city center section.
If I run out of blue Valor cubes or red Threat cubes, do we have to use something
else to count these or are the components strictly limited?
All components are limited. (Except wounds)
In a four player game, the start building of the fifth player isnt used. Can someone
buy that building (if so, at what costs?) and is it possible to use its OWNER ACTION?
The Owner's actions are restricted to the Owner and to him alone. If less
players are playing, than this building becomes a neutral, and serves only
the general action.
Karez is currently green (Town!) and will turn blue (Village) again. What happens, if
Heroes die now? Will they disappear or still be buried at the Cemetery?
The Hero will be discarded to the discard pile, as Heroes will only be
buried at the Cemetery when it is operational (Town and City).
Using the Healers Tent, will all wounds be healed from all Heroes that were
exhausted, or do I have to roll that black special dice?
All wounds will be removed, no dice rolling is required.
A player chooses to buy an instant from his own building. He pays 1 gold and gets
that instant. Will he get his money back at this moment or does he have to wait
until the end of that phase to regain the gold? Its very important, because if he
gets it back right away, he might get up to 4 instants for nothing and only needs 1
gold in his pocket. If he has to wait, he would need 4 gold in his pocket (and gets
them back but only at the end of that phase!).

You are right and we tried to emphasize this part, the owner will get his
gold only at the end of the phase.
Monster attacks first, Hero is just a standard attacker. Can the hero use a healing
potion or reroll options, although he isnt active in that initiative phase, when the
Monster does its attack?
He can use the Potion and the re-roll as they act like an instants
responses (the re-roll will be readied for future encounters).
Can one hero heal a different hero of his party during an encounter/battle?
Yes.
A monster strikes with a 2, there are several positions where that wound can be
placed, who chooses which hero was attacked, the active player? (this might be
interesting for private dungeons!)
The active player, as he rolls all the assigned dice. In the case of a private
dungeon attack, the defending player can control his monsters and assign
the damage to the attackers Heroes as he chooses.
You won an adventure. Will the Threat cubes from that adventure disappear or stay
there until the end of the game?
Remove the Threat cubes to the general supply.
A visitor cards may have several options. If I put my guild token to it, can I just use
one of those options, all options once, or all options as often as I want?
All options are available, each one can only be used once, you choose
which ones to use.
Karez will change from Town (green) to Village (blue). Two adventures are open
(one blue, one green). Will the green one stay open or do I have to turn it back
again?
It will stay open, the threat is still active.
The last blue adventure is solved, Karez is a town. From now on, will there be two
green adventures available or still just one?
The last adventure on the "Village" deck should be a green one as well
(setup). When the Village deck runs out, this slot is exhausted, no more
adventures will appear in this slot.
I succeed at the private dungeon of another player, he used a total of 4 monsters
and a trap. What do I get as a reward (blue Valor cubes and treasure dice)?

You will get 1 Valor cube and 1 treasure roll for every 2 monsters, rounded
down, so in this case you will receive 2 of each, Valor and Treasure rolls.
When you buy a building is it instant or during the activation phase?
Instant purchase.
Scroll of Protection: "add extra hit point" with a 5 dot blue die shown.
- Can we choose the number of dots, or is it strictly 5?
- Is the effect permanent or temporary?
At the end of encounter does your hero still die? If it was the last encounter and it
was your last hero (but you killed the encounter), is the exploration considered
success or failure?
This card is a temporary blue '5' hit point. There are many uses for this
card, as it might "save" (or delay) a Hero from death until the end of an
encounter by adding a new temporary hit point. He will die at the end of
the encounter if he does not heal his wounds, consequently if this was the
last hero on the last encounter, you will fail the adventure when the
temporary hit point is removed and the hero dies.

Could you provide a list of all the ways to gain and remove threat cubes?
Private dungeon One option is to kill an Adventurer (Owner's action).
Adventures & private dungeons will also gain a Threat cube for each failed
exploration attempt. A successful adventure will close the dungeon and
remove the Threat cubes. Some card actions will manipulate Threat as
well.
Do you need to put out a guild token to put workers onto the Blacksmith, Market
Place, or Tower, to produce items?
Yes, unless you are the owner.
Does a Guild Token used with workers for production, also get you the item (first
dibs)?
The token does not get you the produced item, only the ability to produce
the item, which is then for sale to everyone. If it is still available by your
next action you may purchase it.
If the owner of the Arena sends an adventurer to the private action on his building,
is he considered to have reserved that action? You cannot fill that action in a single
move, since it requires a worker AND an adventurer.

No one else can use the private action so reserving it isnt necessary, it
cannot be stolen.
Can players move less than the required number of workers into the general action
of a building and place one of their guild tokens there?
No, the guild token only goes there once all conditions have been met,
thus players that go next may add the missing requirements and drop
their Guild Token on the spot effectively stealing the action.
If my private dungeon has 3 Red Threat Cubes on it, and I decide to close it (how do
I do this?), what happens with these 3 cubes?
Remove your Guild Token as an Action during the Actions phase. Threat
cubes are returned to the general supply.
