I worked with a former student on

two learning goals: improve fluency
and increase work completion.
Although I have used AT in the past,
I didnt really view it that way until
completing this particular module
and field experience. Both AT tools
used in this field experience were
purposeful and beneficial. I learned
that as a future technology leader, I
should always understand the
purpose of every AT tools that I use
and more importantly make sure that
I am using them to improve every
students academic experience.
2. How did this learning relate to the
knowledge (what must you know),
skills (what must you be able to do)
and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader?
(Refer to the standards you selected in
Part I. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect

on all 3knowledge, skills, and

dispositions.)
This field experience related to
knowledge because before engaging
with my student and the AT tools, I had
to first become knowledgeable about AT
tools and why it is important to use
them. In regards to skill, I had to have
necessary skills in order to use the tools.
I also had to possess those skills so that I
could teach my student how to use the
tools. Lastly, I believe that strengthen
my belief that technology can be used
for so many different purposes in
instruction. Using AT tools properly
gives thousands of kids an opportunity to
participate in a learning experience they
may have otherwise been left out of.
3. Describe how this field experience
impacted school improvement, faculty
development or student learning at
your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
This field experience had a positive
impact on my school and student. Now
that I am more educated on AT tools I
can share my experience with other
faculty members. My student was able to
experience noticeable gains from using
the AT tools. These gains were assessed
by observation and assessments.
