The national government (NG) has set aside P860.7 billion specifically for infrastructure

amount is more than double the annual infrastructure spending in the past administration
and some P100 billion more than this years capital outlay of P756.4 billion.

The 2017 budget for infrastructure, equal to 5.4 percent of the countrys GDP, the
Investment Coordinating Committee (ICC) earmarked P355.7 billion to improve and build
road networks, flood-control systems, seaports, airports, school buildings, hospitals and
health centers, as well as irrigation systems.

They have given an instructions to scale up and prioritize the development of

infrastructure projects that would have an impact on areas outside Mega Manila. These
areas of focus include the Cordillera Autonomous Region [CAR], Eastern Visayas and
Mindanao,

particularly

the

Autonomous

in

LESSONS LEARNED

By improving and prioritizing the development of infrastructures in the country

would help the economic growth of our country. The unemployment rate in the
Philippines will decrease as these future infrastructure will offer a job
opportunities.

By implementing a sustained infrastructure program, we are connecting towns to

growth centers and farms and products to markets, making tourism areas
accessible and ensuring the safety of communities and also we are sustaining
our economic growth.

By improving and building road networks, flood-control systems, seaports,

airports, school buildings, hospitals and health centers, as well as irrigation
systems should help provide opportunities and uplift the lives of our people and
will have a big impact on our countrys economic growth

Decision Making
I have gained the value of being wise when it comes to decision making. Decision
making is very important in relation to this article. You have to be careful when
making a decision especially when it talks about money. The government have
decided to increase the budget for the future projects of infrastructures in order to
improve and scale up the economic growth in our country.

Awareness

I have realized that as early as now before I become part of the labor force and a
taxpayer of the country, I should know where the government use the taxes that
we pay. It is important that we know how our hard work would be paid off it may
can be through government services such as health related services and even
infrastructure projects. I should be observant and aware in how ever cent of the
tax I pay would be use and it would be a relief if they would use these money to
help me and other people to live and survive each day.
