Social Studies with Mrs. McKinney

Now that the first quarter has come to an end, I want to thank all of the students who
followed the rules and came to school with at least 95% attendance, wearing uniform
100% of the time, with zero demerits for misbehavior, and receiving grades of C or
better in mathematics, ELA, science, social studies, and writing. These students help us
make our school better. Give it up for C hristina Alb a, C hristian He rnande z, Janae
th
Ke y s, Te re ll P ayton, and Anij ah Ray!!!! Keep up the good work. 8 grades M VS
(M ost Valuabl e Stude nt) for the month of October is C hristina Alb a.
Additionally, for the second quarter in Social Studies we will focus on writing and
evaluating argumentative essays based on current events. Students will be required to
complete a research-based project this quarter and give a presentation for grades 6-8.
In Science, students will focus on Physical Science with an emphasis on Chemical
Reactions. Students will be required to complete a science based performance project
for the second quarter and a rubric will be shared at a later date.
Sincerely,

Mrs.
McKinney
