Dear Parents and Guardians,

Friday, December 2, the school received a report alleging inappropriate sexual behavior on school
grounds between a student and the instructor for the S.T.A.R. program, Students Taking Active Roles.
Once the report was received, we immediately contacted Tooele County School District officials and
involved our school resource officer. Shortly after, the Tooele City Police Department opened an
investigation and the instructor was relieved of any and all duties related to Tooele High School. This
individual is not an employee of TCSD. He is employed by the U.S. Army and they have been informed of
the investigation and charges.
The safety and well-being of our students is a top priority and this situation is deeply upsetting. We want
to assure parents that the district promptly investigates all allegations that can potentially impact the
safety of our students and school operations. I want to personally thank the student who came forward
for trusting their instincts and having the courage to file a report.
At this time, we would ask everyone to respect the privacy of the victim and the victims family as they
work through this ordeal.
