The 2015 Sampaloc milk tea poisoning, which occurred in the Sampaloc district of
Manila, the Philippines, killed two people and sickened a third. Two customers at the
Ergo Cha Tea Shop a couple, Suzaine Dagohoy and Arnold Aydalla and the
owner, William Abrigo, collapsed after drinking Hokkaido milk tea that had an
unpleasant flavor. Dagohoy and Abrigo later died in a hospital. Analysis of their blood
showed a lethal amount of oxalic acid. The police filed murder charges against the
owner's son, Lloyd Abrigo.
Timeline of milk tea poisoning incident
10:42 a.m.- A couple, Suzaine Dagohoy and Arnold Aydalla, ordered the milk tea at the
shop.
10:47 a.m. - A shop owner seen preparing the milk tea.
10:51 a.m. - Aydalla was the first to sip the milk tea followed by his girlfriend Suzaine. In
a few minutes, the couple started to vomit.
10:55 - 11:12 a.m. - Dagohoy collapsed. Aydalla and the nearby bystanders was trying
to help her but he is also collapsed too. A couple was seen being taken to the hospital.
10:59 a.m. - In order to prove that nothing wrong with the milk tea, a shop owner drank
it that the couple had returned to him.
11:01 a.m. - A shop owner collapsed.

~11:11 a.m. - The store helper discovered the shop owner laid down.
^ The time (in PST) was based on CCTV camera.
The entire event was recorded on the shop's CCTV camera.
A couple, Suzaine Dagohoy and Arnold Aydalla, ordered Hokkaido milk tea at the
Ergo Cha shop on April 9, 2015. After taking a sip, Aydalla tasted something unpleasant
and spat the drink out. He then made Dagohoy taste it before bringing the problem to
the attention of the shop owner, William Abrigo, who had prepared the drink for the
couple. Three minutes later, Dagohoy started to vomit and collapsed. Nearby residents
helped Dagohoy to a hospital, where she died four hours later. Aydalla lost
consciousness and was also hospitalized, but he survived.
Meanwhile, in an effort to prove that there was nothing wrong with his
preparation, Abrigo drank the milk tea that Dagohoy and Aydalla had returned to him.
He also prepared another milk tea for himself and drank it. After a few minutes, he
collapsed. The store helper, who had been taking a lunch break at the time of the
incident, returned to find Abrigo on the ground and took him to the hospital. Abrigo died
two hours after Dagohoy. The store helper said that he had seen Abrigo's son, Lloyd
Kevin Abrigo, bringing toxic-looking chemicals into the shop. He also said that Lloyd had
ordered him to wash the pitcher containing the milk tea, but that he had not done so
because there was a foul smell emanating from it. Lloyd then cleaned the pitcher
himself.

According to the doctor who attended to the couple, the source of the poisoning was
probably a water buffalo, which she said could have caused contamination if it came
into contact with food.

ACA 1: They must have a yearly Sanitary Inspection
Advantages:
1. Checking of the establishment regularly for the sake of their business and
customer.
2. For them to keep the area and facilities are harmless.
Disadvantages:
1. Without regular sanity inspection there are instances that you can ignore the
bad condition on your business that may cause harm.
2. Keeping the area unattended the area may cause food contamination.
ACA 2: Proper Handling of their materials
Advantages:
1. They must be knowledgeable in proper management most especially to their
materials used.
2. Safety of the materials is better than all others in quality especially in food
business.
Disadvantages:
1. Without the proper management the business will be on harm.
2. Due to improper management of materials may cause some customer in
danger.
ACA 3: Hired laborers and workers that are more capable
Advantages:
1. Hiring some laborers and workers that can help your business more flexible.
2. The more workers the more the business will more success by the help of
people.
Disadvantages:
1. Without work force of laborers the business is weak.

2. Without the help of workers you cant able to have ideas or information to
maintain the business growth.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION:

recommended to be adopted by the management.
