prediction that they may make.

groups to work with the
teachers on various reading

Students will meet with their
literature circle groups that
were heterogeneously chosen
to engage in a meaningful
discussion of the book they
have read. At the end of the
literature circle, the group will

choose where they are reading


to for the next class.

to the teacher define the
strategy, practice how to
construct a simile with the
teacher. Once the students
return to their desk, they will
add a simile into their personal
essays that they have been
working on.
Students will be working
independently on their personal
essays. They can be
developing their paragraphs,
revising, editing or publishing.
Students will be called in
groups to work with the teacher
on their development of their
personal essays.
