Data Analysis & Application

Fact Finding:

Hypotheses:

Student number 2 and student number 11 were

the only two students to earn 100% on this
assessment.

I did not address the entire class well

enough to make them all successful.
The rubric was challenging and could
use revision to make it easier to
understand.

Action Plan:

Student number 9 only earned a 41% on the

assessment.

33% of the students struggled with Standard

5.G.2.

Student number 7 earned a 52% on the

assessment.

55% of the boys in the class earned 80% or

higher on this assessment.

The girls scored significantly higher on the

literacy standard on this assessment.

I did not support this student enough

after they were absent.

I was not clear enough in my

expectations for this standard.
I did not clarify this material well
enough for the students to be
successful.

I didnt scaffold this student enough for

them to be successful in their learning.

I matched their areas of need into an

activity I knew that they would enjoy.
I didnt work hard enough to help all of
the boys in my classes.

I provided a lot of options to the class

during stations, and many girls
preferred free writing.

I will revise the standards for the next

class.
I will offer redos so that the students get
a chance to demonstrate their true
learning.
I will begin a study group for students
who are absent.
I will have them do buddy time, where
another student will go over work with
a student who was absent.
I will more clearly define this on the
rubric.
Extra credit relating to this standard
will be offered.

I will give this student extra help, as

well as switch this student to a different
work group, so that they receive
additional help from peers.

I will rearrange the table groups, so that

they are more heterogeneous.

I will bring in more materials that boys

would be interested in writing and
reading about to enhance these skills.

Data Analysis & Application

Students with more absences had lower scores.

40% of the students were 100% proficient with

standard 5-ESS3-1.

I did not provide enough intervention

upon students return to class.

I didnt draw in the other students well

enough.
My instructions were hard to
understand.

51% of the students earned 10/10 on the

standard 5-U1.1.2.

15 students were in attendance every single

day.

Half of the class connected with my

lessons.
I was not assessing well enough prior to
the summative assessment for the
students who were struggling.
I made class engaging, although not all
15 were 100% proficient.
I didnt expand learning well enough
for students who were absent.

I will begin a study group for students

who are absent.
I will have them do buddy time, where
another student will go over work with
a student who was absent.

I will differentiate better for all my

students.

More interim assessments will be put in

place for better checks for
understanding.

I need to craft better lessons so that all

students, even the ones in attendance
are able to learn to the best of their
abilities.
