The Influence of the Life of Geoffrey Chaucer

This article discusses Geoffrey Chaucer and a little background of his life and also being known
as the Father of English literature. It talks about Chaucer being very well educated and not
only writing poetry but writing philosophical and scientific works as well. While being a writer
Chaucer also was a servant who worked as a bureaucrat and a diplomat. His most popular work
The Canterbury Tales, shows versatility and is very unique. This particular writing of Chaucer
shows why he is called the Father of English Literature and also because of his other poems
he has written. The article discusses how his works was very well received, that he was granted
by the king. Chaucer was very well respected for his work then and now in the present. This
article gave me a better understanding of who he was as a person and as a writer. This also
helped me understand why readers of his work respect him as a writer/poet.

This article discusses Geoffrey Chaucers success as a writer and how readers and scholars now
in the present view his writings and his work. In the article Matthew Benjamin talks about how
he is one of the greatest in English literature and how fascinating it was for Chaucer to use the
English
language at a time when Latin was the legal language. This is the reason why Matthew
Benjamin and other scholars believe that he was very successful. By using English his writings

were because it was different and simple. This article also explained how Geoffrey Chaucer
wrote in a way to teach the readers a lesson and also to reach out to all audiences. The article
also discusses the different things he experienced and professions he experienced and how that
applied to his work. Chaucer used his experiences in life and put those experiences in his work
also to relate to the audience or readers. This article gave me a better view of how Geoffrey
Chaucer wrote his works and how he wanted the audience and readers to experience a different
piece of work not just the ordinary. Also the article helped me understand Chaucers way of
writing.

This article discusses the life of Geoffrey Chaucer and what led him to write his most famous
work The Canterbury Tales. The article talks about Chaucer being a native of England and how
he has several jobs throughout his lifetime and also writing in between. Many people respected
him and genuinely liked him not only as person but because of his talent of writing. The article
also discusses his start on the Canterbury Tales and how this poem was very remarkable and
memorable. This article was little but helpful and it gave me more insight on his life and how he
came to write one of his most famous poems. The article just didnt give me as much as I thought
it would but Im glad I gathered some information from this article.
