Activity 1: Taking Turns


Taking Turns: flag tag will be limited to 5 minutes of total playtime; when playing four
square, the four students playing will be watched by four partners standing outside the
court; after all students have played one round, partners will list two similarities and two
differences between themselves and their partners performances; students will discuss,
as a class, the impact similarities/differences had on the overall activity
Objective 4
TEKS 3.b.7.C: accept and respect differences and similarities in physical abilities of self
and others
Psychomotor Pairs of students will be given three actions for each student to perform
as partners watch.
Cognitive - Students will list two similarities and two differences between their own
performance and the partners.

Activity 2:
Bunny Hop
Bunny Hop: students will be in partners after the whole class practices the bunny hop; in
partners, one student will be blindfolded while the other calls out the steps; encourage
students to use their own words to tell their partners which movement to do; after both
partners have been blindfolded, students will discuss with partners which movements
were most difficult to understand; then students will write down a different wording to
make the movement easier to understand

TEKS 3.b.7 Social development. The student develops positive self-management and
social skills needed to work independently and with others in physical activity settings.
The student is expected to:
(A) follow rules, procedures, and etiquette;
(B) persevere when not successful on the first try in learning movement
skills;

out an action to be performed (the action will have multiple steps), and if the blindfolded
students mess up, they must start from the beginning.
