Ice Cream Soothes the Soul

Going from an Ice Cream
Parlor to a Church is definitely
thinking outside the box! But
that is the word coming from
the little town of Nashua.
Grace Lutheran Church,
LCMC, was formed in May
of 2010 and the members
began
holding
worship
services at the Nashua Senior
Citizens Center in June of
2010, For over six years they
have prayed about having
their own building. When
the Bergstrom family offered

to sell the Bergies building

to Grace Lutheran it was an
answer to their prayers.
Things happened quickly
after the congregation voted
to purchase the building.
Bergies closed the evening
of October 22nd and Grace
Lutheran had their first
service in their new church
building on October 23rd.
The physical changes
are gradually being made to
reflect what people expect a

church to look like. What has not changed is that the

church is still home to a 12-foot marble ice cream
fountain.
The vision that the members of Grace Lutheran
have for their church is to be loving and welcoming to
all who enter their doors.
With that in mind, they would like to invite
everyone to their first of many Ice Cream Socials. Come
to Nashua for their very first Ice Cream Social on the
afternoon of Sunday, December 11th from 2:00-4:00.
Of course, Bergies famous homemade ice cream
will be made and served by the Pro, Larry Bergie
Bergstrom himself!
Come and visit with the members of Grace
Lutheran and learn their story and savor some of
Bergies ice cream.

This is a pretty cool little tip

Fast Eddie Reddick popped into the Buzz the other

day and pointed out an interesting little fact in the world
of bowling, or at least in our neighboring communities
of Glasgow and Nashua.
With Dale Borgens first perfect 300 game at El Cor
Del Lanes last week, that makes three sets of brothers
bowling perfect games here in Valley County.
Dales brother Verlin (a.k.a. Smutz) had one at Vicks
Lanes in Nashua; Dave and Bruce Riggin have 300s at El
Cor Del and the Burt twins Jerry and Terry bowled
300 games at Vicks Lanes.
Thanks to the sharp mind of Fast Eddie for bringing
this to our attention!

Cmon, break out the disco ball!

The Nashua Lions Club is sponsoring Roller Skating

at the Nashua Civic Center. Roller skating is every
Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m., running through March
12th (with the exception of Christmas Day, which lands
on Sunday this year).
