and a) The Honble Minister for Agricul. Marketing of the State


is ex-Officio Chairman of the Board
b) The Board shall elect a Vice-Chairman from among the
elected members of the Board
c) One person from each revenue district of the State who
shall be a Chairman of a market committee in the district
elected in the prescribed manner by an electorate consisting
of the Chairman of all market committees in such district.

a) The first committee shall be Nominated by State Govt. the
Period of the office shall be two Years which may be
extended By another 2 years.
Second & subsequent market committee shall be constituted
by following the Process of election to the Market

b) Eleven members shall be persons elected by the
agriculturists in the market area of whom one shall be a
women, one shall be a person belonging to the Scheduled
Castes, one shall be a persons belonging to Scheduled Tribes
and two persons belonging to the Backward Classes, out of
which one shall be from persons falling under Category A
and one shall be from Persons falling under category B
One member shall be a person elected By the commission
agents and traders other than retail traders in the market
Area. One member shall be Representative of Co-operative
Marketing Societies carrying on Business in notified Agri.

representative of Agri. Co-op processing Societies carrying
on Business in notified agril. Produce with in the market

area. One shall be an officer not below the rank of the


secretary of the connected market committee nominated by
the Director of Agril. Marketing who does not have voting
rights. Three members shall be persons nominated by the
State Govt. who shall have right to vote in all the meeting of
the market committee.

members of the farmers constituency only.

1) Co-op Societies dealing is notified Agril. Produce are


permitted to pay 80% of the market fee payable to concerned
Market Committee.
2) Direct purchase license, spot exchange, contract farming
70% of the market fee leviable is to be paid to market
committee.
3) Under the industrial policy of the State for the period from
2006 2011 new processing industries set up are eligible for
100 % market fee exemption on the purchase of notified
produce from farmers Directly (Pulses, oilseeds, Fruits &
Vegetables)
