Journal- How were Jesus teachings radical when compared to Judaism? Give examples and
explain critically your answers. If you could list three key tenants of Jesus' teachings what are
they and why?
Response
Its no secret that those of us who claim to follow Jesus Christ consistently fall short of
living up to the way of life of our Rabbi. Being a disciple of Jesus is a lifelong journey towards
conforming ourselves to the image and way of life that Jesus taught.
Jesus on the elevated status of poverty and the Condemnation of wealth, Jesus teach the
basic fundamental of human life how we should trait the poor and how we should be whiling
share our wealth in order to closer to God. From my understanding of Jesus Idea, it will hard for
wealthy people to follow his path of Christianity.
Jesus was radical in his ministry and teachings. He questioned the rulers of the Jewish
faith, he threw people out of the temple, he pronounced woe to the scribes and Pharisees, he
performed healings and miracles on the Sabbath, and his disciples did not fast, and even ate
without washing their hands. His whole Sermon on the Mount turned the Jewish traditions and
laws seemingly upside down. The simple answer is that Jesus was a radical; however, I dont
believe its that simple.
But at time Jews might see Jesus teaching as great danger to Judaism
