1.HowtoUsethisTutorial
WelcometothePSYC469tutorialonCalculatingaVisualAngle.
Thesizeofanobjectsimageontheretinaldependsontwothings,theactualsize
oftheobject,anditsdistancefromtheeye.Inthistutorial,youwilllearnhowtouse
objectsizeandobjectdistancetocalculateanimagesangularsizeontheretina.The
conceptofanimagesangularsizeisessentialtounderstandingavarietyofvisual
phenomenaincludingacuity,depthperception,andthecontrastsensitivityfunction(CSF)
ofthevisualsystemforobjectsofdifferentsize.
Thesetutorialscoverseveraldifferenttopicsinvision.Eachtopiciscoveredina
separatemodule,whichconsistofrepeatingsequences.Onthefirstpageineach
sequence,youwillreceiveabriefpresentationofinformation,onthefollowingpageyou
