General objectives:
On completion of this module, the trainee should be able to:

Understand the basic working principles of petrol engine and remove petrol engine
from vehicle, dismantle cylinder head, piston connecting rod, crank shaft, cam shaft
etc.

Understand the principle of Gasoline fuel system and overhauling carburettors and
understand diesel
fuel injection system

Know the Electronic fuel injection (EFI) principle and its components.

Check and replace oil pumps, oil filters, fuel litter.

Identification of Electronic control unit & Troubleshooting.

Test & adjust MPFI pump and petrol nozzle.

Understand the working principle of different type of sensors, Actuators.

Use of diagnostic tools equipment

Understand the operation of an ignition system and carry out repairs and
adjustments

Check and replace ignition coil, overhauling Distributor assembly, cleaning and
checking spark plug.

Identification and testing of Hall effect sensor, Optical sensor. Tracing and testing of
sensor circuits.

Checking a charging system, Removing & replacing an alternator, replacing an


engine drive belt / pulleys and their alignments.

Removing starter motor from vehicle, overhauling and testing of starter motor.

Trace the light circuit -test bulbs align head lamps,

Diagnose wiper speed control and park problem, setting blades for correct
