Brief Summary
I will be doing an internship with my mentor Dr.Morehead at the Womens Health
Specialists of North Texas. Our specialized physicians share a common goal to make patient care
and comfort a priority for our practice. We work to create and develop genuine relationships with
each of our patients in order to promote open communication and a safe, relaxed atmosphere
within our offices. We feel that the best way to ensure your health and complete satisfaction is to
provide comprehensive support for you through each phase of your life.
At Women's Health Specialists of North Texas, we understand that women experience several
changes throughout their lives, and that your goals and needs will shift in relation to these
changes. Thats why we strive to provide care and services catered to each stage of life, so that
we can always accommodate you. Whether you are interested in pregnancy prevention methods,
fertility options, prenatal care, or managing menopause, our physicians offer services to meet
your needs. Who are geared to helping women each day to be the best they can at a hundred
percent. I will shadow and make a blog around my visits there and with Dr.Morehead.

Benefits and Purpose

This project will help promote my future career and to see if I am ready to become a
Family Doctor. Even though this is just with woman, I will be able to dip my feet in the water
to see if this is something I am actually interested in. The benefit is also helping me by showing
that I have experience in the medical field with a internship that obtained in High School. Which
will further my benefit if a College, Company, or Employer, wishes to see if I have any
experience or interesting facts.
Reason and Passion Behind
the Project
The reason I want to do
this project is it will help me
determine if I am actually
prepared to become and pursue
becoming a doctor. This project
will help me measure this and
be able to get feedback from a
actual doctor if I am able to
receive it and use as good
criticism. I want to do this
project because I am passionate
about becoming a doctor and
soon pursuing my dream of
doing Doctors without Borders.
I have always had a passion of
helping people of all ages, anyone I can at anytime. I am always making sure everyone is okay
and if I can do anything to help. And as a doctor I will be able to help people with that from
sickness, mental stress and issues. For as long as I can remember this is what I wanted to do, to
make a difference in people's lives indirectly and directly.

Dr.Morehead
Dr. Morehead has been working as an
Obstetrician/Gynecologist for the last 18 years.He grew up
in Temple, Texas, where he graduated from Temple High
School in 1981. He graduated from Abilene Christian
University in 1986, did graduate work at Texas A&M
University, then attended medical school at the University
of North Texas Health Sciences Center in at Fort Worth,
graduating in 1992. He received his residency training in
Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center at Odessa, graduating in 1996.He is
married and has four sons, and enjoys watching sports,
playing golf, and music. He works at both of the two
location of Waxahachie and Mansfield.
Audience

My targeted audience would be fellow students and

college students who are interested in how an
internship works at a Doctors office. I am also planning after my technical paper is done
maybe have it published at their office or posted to a known blogs for mothers who are
researching things for their babies (Based on which topic I choose). Furthermore the
people at the capstone presentation.
Measure of Success
My measure of success will be measured by a survey that My mentor and his associates
will take asking for feedback and a few minor and one major question (about my residency). It
will also be retaken at the end of my time there. If I get the approval to ask a few patients aswell
which I wish to do so.

Design Process
Identify a Problem - Which is the Diagnosis when a patient has their check-up.
Brainstorm - Brainstorm which route to take to cure or help heal the patient.
Research - Research to find the best medicine for the patient to take.
Design and Build Prototype - Design and create treatment plan.
Test - Meet with the Doctor for check-ups.
Refine - If the medicine is not working then the Doctor will Find another treatment plan and start
over again with the design process.
Present Findings and Reflect - Have feedback from the patient about the status of the problem
and how it affected them and how it helped or worsened the problem.

Inspiration
My inspiration would be when I first saw
a doctor which was when my brother broke his
toe. The doctor took care of him like he was a
little baby even though he was old enough to
know better than to break it. I saw how much
care and attention he was getting and how just
that made him feel better. Helping in ways that
was indirect and directly which is what matters
in my opinion. Furthermore seeing TV shows,
Movies, Books, and real life situations where the
Doctors dropped everything to help the patients,
to make them feel better and help preventing any
future or sickness.
Giving back Idea
I was interested in giving back by making a collage of pictures of Dr.Morehead's patients
(with consent) to take a picture of each of them so I can put it all together, using paint sample
paper to use as the background. Which appreciates him as a doctor and the patients. Dr.Morehead
is a man who puts the patient first no matter what he loves his patients and without them he
would not be able to do a job he loves. So why not use that same appreciation he has for his

patients but a gift that appreciates him and his patients.
