Whats the Sound?


Have powerpoint lecture already set up with the Smart Board
Explain to students what a low pitch is, then play it on the keyboard
Explain to students what a high pitch is, then play it on the keyboard
Ask a student to volunteer to play a pitch on the keyboard
Have students guess whether it is a low pitch or a high pitch
High or Low
Show students pictures of different things that make sounds (cow, bird, bicycle bell, dogs)
Ask students to make the sounds that correspond to the pictures

Direct students to stand anytime they hear a high sound and sit anytime they hear a low
sound
Teaching Im Tall, Im Small

Sing the first and second lines of the song to students and gesture for them to repeat
after you

Sing the third and fourth lines of the song then have students repeat after you

Go through the whole song and gesture for the students to repeat after you
Add Instruments

Play Bb on the xylophone and then pass it to a student

Play F on another xylophone and then pass it to another student


Conclusion

Perform Im Tall, Im Small with instruments
