Which is one of the first verses which were revealed to Prophet Muhammad?
Answer: Surah-Al-Alaq or Iqra (Al-Quran 96: 1-5)
How long did the revelations for the Holy Quran continue for?
Answer: The revelations continued for 23 years.
What are the two periods called during which the Holy Quran was revealed?
Answer: For the first 13 years of his mission he lived in Makkah and during
this period all surahs are known as Makki. All surahs revealed during his
ten years at Madinah are known as Madni Surahs.
What is the difference between Madni and Makki Surahs?
Answer: The Makki Surahs are generally brief and deal with belief in Allah,
the Day of Judgement, reward and punishment, heaven and hell, moral
