even the immediate comwmunity if you want to succeed at educating
Scrivner students. What occurs at Skrivnor is part of the larger events
that are occurring outside the school You will not succeed if you ignore
this larger oortext for Scrivner education You are deeply concerned that
the curriculum, instruction, and support services have not stayed up
with cument demands. You realize that you need to create a clear
presentation of the context in which the school is now imbedded. The
statement of the cor text is needed in order to help the staff of the
school and community to gain understanding and agreement on what
is being demanded in modern society, the political climate of change,
the possible future directions, and on what is being called for and
valued a Scrivner over the next five years. The context for Scrivner is
not any different than what exists in other communities and states and
the community you lefe to take this job. Once future needs,
possibilities, an directions are better understood, the process of envi
sioning a twenty-first century middle school will b possible. expected
of middle schools over the next five
