Phases of the Moon Observations

Day 1 and 2:
The first two days that I started this
experiment the sky ended up being
completely covered in clouds so that I was
not able to make my observations for these
nights. The second night it had even
snowed.

Day 7:
This day was okay outside. It was
still mostly cloudy out but I was still able to
see more light from the moon in a waxing
crescent.
Light: 15%

Day 3:

Location: 15 degrees to the left of

I was finally able to start making my

observations on day three. It was mostly
cloudy this day so I had a hard time being
able to find the moon. Turns out, it was a
new moon that day so I wouldnt be able to
see it anyways.
Light: None
Location: In between sun and moon.
Day 4 and 5:

the sun
Day 8:
Day eight was also cloudy outside so
I was not able to make any observations.
Day 9:
It was still pretty cloudy outside on
this day too but I was able to see more of the
moon again. A little over a fourth of the
moon was shining its light at this time.

Day four and five were very similar

to the first two days in that I was not able to
see the moon with all of the clouds in the
sky keeping me from seeing it.

the sun

Day 6:

Day 10:

Day six was the first good day that I

was able to have. There werent very many
clouds in the sky and I was able to see the
moon in waxing crescent.

Day ten was very similar to day nine

with the clouds. More light shining from the
moon.

Light: 5%
Location: Just left of the sun

Light: 30%
Location: 45 degrees to the left of

Light: 40%
Location: 80 degrees to the left of
the sun.

Day 11:
Day eleven was a beautiful night.
Not a single cloud in the sky as I watched
the first quarter moon shine brightly above
my house. Finally, I had a really good
observation day.

This was supposed to be my last

night of observations but I was disappointed
to find the sky covered with clouds once
again so that I was not able to see the moon.
Day 15:

the sun

Because of having so many nights

being cloudy I continued doing two more
nights worth of observations so that I could
get more data. It was a wise choice because I
was able to see the moon again this night.

Day 12:

Light: covering 85% of moon

Light: 50%
Location: 90 degrees to the left of

The sky was too cloudy for me to be

able to see the moon at this night too.

Location: 130 degrees to the left of

the sun.

Day 13:

Day 16:

I was able to see my first waxing

gibbous this night though it was still a little
cloudy outside.

So close to a full moon. There was

only a tiny little sliver left until the whole
moon was shining.

Light: 75% of moon

Location: 100 degrees to the left of
the sun
Day 14:

Light: Only a small sliver left of

shadow
Location: Roughly 170 degrees to
the left of the sun.
