Minutes of the Commissioners Meeting

October 19, 2016
The regular scheduled meeting of the Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 was held on
Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 6:00p.m. at 3500 D B Wood Road. The President, Bobby Bunte, being in the
chair, and a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 6:05p.m.

Not Present:

Commissioners Troy Rodriguez and Troy Dalton

Meeting
1.

Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular Session meeting
held on September 21, 2016.

2.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to approve the Regular Session meeting minutes held on
September 21st. Commissioner Wood seconds. Motion carried.

Presentation of the monthly Treasurers Report and payment of bills by Ron Barrick.

Money Market balance: $3,551,789.16

Checking: $26,880.70
Total Money Market and Checking balance: $3,578,669.86
Commissioner Wood made a motion to accept the Treasurers report for September as read.
Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carried.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to approve and pay the bills as submitted by Ron
Barrick. Commissioner Wood seconds. Motion carries.

Monthly presentation and report(s) by City of Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan.

Chief Sullivan and Chief Davis gave the Board a brief overview of the percentage of ESD8 and
EMS related responses in September as well as other City-wide events and developments
occurring in September.

Discussion and possible action on authorizing District officials to change signature cards as
necessary.

5.

Signature cards were updated.

Discussion and possible action regarding the annexation of the Whitetail Subdivisions, Garey
Park, and surrounding properties into ESD8.

Commissioner Wood made a motion to allow Commissioner Bunte approve the letter composed
by ESD8 Attorney Ken Campbell notifying residents of unincorporated properties that are
intiguous of the proposed White Tail Annexation to express interest in annexation of said
properties. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carries. Carry over.
Commissioner Piper made a motion to move the December Regular Session meeting to occur
on December 14th. Commissioner Wood seconds. Motion carries.

6.

Discussion and possible action related to the construction of Fire State #6.

General discussion. Carry over.

AMENDED at the November 16, 2016 meeting to add:
Review of the term sheet generated by the City of Georgetown.

7.

Discussion and possible action on communication outreach options for ESD8.

General discussion. Carry over.

None.

Next regular session meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at the Public Safety
Operations and Training Center. No further business was discussed or actions taken. Commissioner Piper
made a motion for adjournment. Commissioner Wood seconds. Meeting was adjourned at 10:04p.m.
