To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Yaroslava Omelchuk and I have many reasons for writing about the current issues with
Syrian refugees. First of all, of the limited number of Syrian Refugees accepted into the United States more
than 100 of them who have been released have rejoined jihadist groups(PRO: Its called representative
government: Majoritys stance should rule). Personally, I was born in Ukraine and my parents thought it
would be best to start a new life in America. To many, America is a safe haven, it is a land filled with endless
opportunities and a place where you can see the least expected. As mentioned in the article P
RO: Its called

representative government: Majoritys stance should rule, many people count on the United States to
protect them and keep them safe, so bringing in even potentially dangerous refugees might not be the
best decision for the peoples sake.
The current Refugee situation leaves about 470,000 dead, and about 400,000 [deaths] were
directly [from] violence(Report on Syria conflict finds 11.5% of population killed or injured). This
war is tragic and is affecting many people all around. Sadly,Indirect deaths will be greater in the
future(Report on Syria conflict finds 11.5% of population killed or injured). However this is not all,
due to the current war going on in Syria, it continues to destroy the social and economic fabric of the
country(Report on Syria conflict finds 11.5% of population killed or injured). With the war bringing
down the economy, it is hard for many of the citizens of Syria to find refuge and to keep themselves
and their children safe and alive. There are also many individuals who have been separated from their
families and are try to reconnect.
The current Syrian refugee crisis is quite similar to that of the Jewish population as a result of
the Holocaust. One way that both events might be similar is the fact that in both cases, the United
States was fed by fears that the Nazis "would plant agents, spies and saboteurs(Refugee refusal
today compared, contrasted to that of WWII). The crisis are also similar in a way that threat of harm
to America from ISIS now is just as real and serious as that from our enemies then"(Refugee refusal
today compared, contrasted to that of WWII). So yes, both cases of the Jewish refugees and the Syrian
refugees are similar in the fact that they gather up fear in the United States.
I disagree with the intake of Syrian refugees for many reasons. The main reason that I disagree
is that there is not really a way of knowing what they could do, just like any other person in the world.
By not letting them in we could take away even the slightest chance of violence/terror attacks. Also,
another reason why not letting the Syrian refugees into the United States is because there would be a
need to let other family members in, if not now, then soon, in order to help provide for the resettled
women and children(PRO: Its called representative government: Majoritys stance should rule). In to

keep the refugees well settled there would need to be arrangements made to help rejoin families, and
this would mean even more refugees that would enter the United States. My last reason is that many
people and governors dont trust Obamas claims of stringent security checks, meaning that they
might not be as legitimate as they sound. There could be some sort of error, and that could push the
United States into great danger, and this is not something we need. For the safety of the states, it is
best that we do not accept Syrian refugees.
Assuredly, to keep the people of America safe inside what they call home, it would be best that
no Syrian refugees enter even if the chance of any terror attack is very low. Although it might sound
cruel, the betrayal of the American nationality would and is an act of disrespect. We already have our
problems to sort out, we do not need more coming our way. I hope that you look at this discussion
with a more serious note and not as something rather emotional. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
