2.0 Scope of Sub Contract

2.1 General
a) Supply and install a proprietary Raised Access Floor System , complete, as shown and specified in
the sub contract documents. This Raised Access Floor System comprises of load bearing removable
panels gravity laid on adjustable pedestals, by finished floor height or load bearing capacity, inclusive
of all necessary accessories and fixings.
c) Provide a Guarantee against any failure related to unknown production default for the entire
expected life of the product that have to be declared for a minimum of 20 years.
3.0 Materials
3.1 General
a) The panel shall have a rigid and solid construction by mechanical double folding joint within the
top and bottom metal trays, to create a built in stringer on the top side of the perimeter of the
panel. The core panel will made out of single layer of fibre reinforced cellulose fiber qualified
and certified at rating fire class 0 (index 1 < 12, sub index (i) < 6 as per BS 476 part 6), the
bonding of the core will be made with glue that do satisfy the same fire performance of the core
and the metal covering.
b) The constituent material is to be fully described by the tenderer and is assumed to be in
accordance with relevant standards and directive. The floor System shall not built in a way on
which by direct contact could be detrimental to the safety and comfort of the user or which may
emit abnormally toxic combustion materials.
c) The floor System shall be sturdy, rigid and firm. The design of the System shall prevent
vibration, rattles, rocking squeaks and other noises. Any floor panels that are cut shall be
supported by additional pedestals, and securely sealed in order to prevent any contamination of
dust from the core materials of the panel.
d) The component parts of the System should be designed and manufactured under controlled
conditions to be suitable for use in a standard office building environment in the specific contract
area climate like South east Asia and Middle East for the high temperature and moisture content
or North Europe and North America with a very low temperature and low humidity.

3.2 Dimensional requirements

a) Floor panel dimension shall be 600 X 600 mm.
b) The thickness of the panel shall be within 23 and 30 mm to grant the maximum available void
space
c) Height from structural floor the finished height of the installation (normally called FFH), shall be
fully adjustable to cater for tolerances likely to be encountered in the level of the concrete slab ,
the limits of adjustability will be minimum + or 35 mm.
d) Overall levels, before application of load, the platform floor surface shall be level to :
+ 1.5 mm over any 5 metre square
+ 6.0 mm over the entire floor
e) Panel overall size under no load condition:
Concavity/convexity not to exceed 0.4 mm
Twist not to exceed 0.4 mm
Square ness, from work size + / - 0.2 mm.
f) Dead load of the System, the dead load of the raised access floor System shall not exceed the 15
% of the declared load bearing capacity of the structural floor.
3.3 Structural requirements
a) As per Standards and Code of Practice requirements: the floor shall be tested in such a manner to
be compared to the real system applied on site, any other type of tests not performing the full
system shall be considered as a failure of the requirements.
b) The panel once installed on the maximum height of the designed system shall be able to satisfy
the requirements of the Standards and /or Code of Practice:
Concentrated load not less than 3.0 k:
Indentor no more than 625 mm square
Safety factor no less than 3 time the
concentrated load.
Deflection no more than 1/250 of the
panel size
c) Pedestal fixing; base areas should be calculated in order to secure the load transmission be
inferior than the compression load capacity of the slab surface declared in 450.N/centimetre
square,
Base area not less than 10.000 mm square
d) Pedestal stability and strength; the pedestal shall support all the load bearing capacities of the
System without any permanent deformation:
The free play within head and base will
be not allowed to excide 1.5 mm with 5 :
force
The eccentric load applied on a quadrant
of the head will sustain at least the max
load of safety factor.

3.4 Hygrothermal requirements

The access floor System shall withstand the following conditions, without any delimitation or other
forms of deterioration:
25C, R.H. 70 % on void and room side.
10C and 80% RH in the floor void and
30C and 30% RH on the room side.
30C and 30 % RH in the floor void and
20C and 40% RH on the room side.
Range 10C to 40C with RH of 80%.
Subcontractor shall state compliance of dimensional tolerances under the above mentioned
conditions, any deviation have to be declared in dimension and if it is in a elastic regime or a
permanent deformation.
3.5 Fire and safety requirements
a) General :
1) The System shall not be flammable and shall not propagate combustion.
2) The System shall comply with the fire requirements of :
ISO 1716 1973, ISO 1182 1983 and ISO
TR 9165 or relevant :ational standard
identifying the fire reaction class 1 / M1
as per BS 476 part 6 and :F P 92-501
3) Structural material on vertical set out have to be made with product:
having a melting point over 650C.
4) The System will comply with the requirements of no flame transmission.
5) The System will be grant from emission of toxic smoke once under temperature over 450C.
3.6 :oise attenuation and reduction
a) General
1)The System shall have the best performance on noise attenuation and reduction as per ISO R 717
Dnfw 40dB (airborne sound reduction).
2) The System shall comply with the minimum requirement of ISO 140 part 6 and 9.
3) Any need over the requirement of the standard will be solved by acoustic cavity barrier installed on
void area.

3.7 Electrical requirements

a) Electrostatic properties shall be provided by resistance between the surface of the floor covering
and the main building earth on reason of 0.2 ohms at 50% RH.
b) Equipotential bonding.
All substantial components of the System shall be capable of being electrically bonded. The
subcontractor shall detail method of such bonding and include the work for equipotential bonding to
the metal part of the raised access floor System from the earthling terminal provided by others at the
electrical meter room on each floor as per IEC 17th edition requirements.
3.8 Health and Hygiene
All material shall be resistant to the growth of fungi and micro-organism, the System shall not contain
any toxic material which by physical contact or by inhalation of gases could prove harmful to the
occupants of the building.
The material used in the System shall not give off any odours which could be unpleasant to the
occupants of the building.
3.9 Reciclability
The subcontractor shall declare the rate on % of reciclability of the suggested Raised Access Floors
System giving warranties for at least 75%.
3.10 Conductivity Lambda Coefficient
The total horizontal structure of the access floors have to comply with the energy saving requirements
having as a performance a lambda coefficient equal or inferior of 0.26 W/m x C.
3.11 Creation of Contamination
The System and floor panels shall not create dust or contaminants that are likely to be harmful to
personnel or equipment.
