Lesson Focus: Track and Field


A. Will Lydon

C. Academic Language: The academic


language that will be addressed are cues of the
skill for the track and field lesson. Students will
gain a strong sense of understanding the
importance of cooperative learning throughout
the week. Students will also understand why
spatial awareness is very important. They will
also know safety considerations as it is crucial
in this unit.

Team BuildingHave 4 poly spots
spread out in a line
and across from each
poly spot on another
line, have a pile of 6
small cones (color
coordinate). One
person will run at a
time to go make ONE
MOVE to building a
tower with cones.
Once the student
makes their one move
they run back tag the
next person in line to
do the same. First
team to have their
tower built wins.

mile (4 laps around

must run

with one foot.

reach the end

line and take a
