The picture that I choose was a representation of overconfidence of America. December

31, 1941 was 24 days after Japan attacked The Pearl Harbor. The Pearl Harbor is a naval base
near Hawaii which caused America to fight in the war being one of the 50 states. Japan declared
war on America, we declared back which made us fight in World War 2. The Second World War
began in September 1939 because of Britain and France declaring war on Germany after they

invaded Poland. While the Second World War was going on America was always neutral and
stayed out of the war because they only cared about AMERCIA. America has too much
confidence because they have much nationalistic pride.
The picture title is The Battle of the Easy Chair as illustrated in the picture the bigger
man has much pride for America. Hes thinking that the war is going to be an easy streak for
them. He also has a smirk or grin on his face to show his side of being nonchalant. As also
illustrated in the picture on the bigger man he has button on his coat which says we cant lose,
hooray for our side, Hitler cant take it, while holding an American flag. The bigger man
whos laid back in the chair, with nationalistic prideful buttons on, while holding the American
flag, with a nonchalant face seems to be rich because he seems to not be at all worried about the
outcome of the war because hes certain America will bring home the win. This man also asks
the other fellow or Judkins to awake him with the victory parade is happening. Hes then
implying that the war will be over very fast.
The other man Judkins in the illustration above shows a very worried and fearful man
standing at the window. While standing at the window hes holding the curtain open looking out
of it to see whats going on. Outside the window hes standing at it seems to be having some type
of precipitation that looks to be snow. The frightful look on the mans face seem to be harshly
different from the laid back bigger man who seems to be overconfident. The man in the
window is looking for the victory parade because he dont think the battle will be over as
quickly as the bigger man thinks. From my opinion the man in the window is frightful because of
the outcome because that will be money wasted, it could start another war and many
possibilities. Although the war didnt end as fast as the bigger man planned because the Second
War ended in September 1945, 4 years after America joined due to the attack of the Pearl Harbor.

America did win the war of World War 2 which the laid back man thought, it just didnt take as
little time as he thought. The frightful man at the window has nothing else to worry about
because WE WON.
