DELIBERATION
COMMENCEMENT
Meeting commenced at 1102am with prayer said by Engr. Adoga, it was chaired
by the chapter chairman Engr. O. Taiwo, he read the agenda for the meeting and
this was adopted with motions moved and seconded by Mr. Haruna Salisu and
Amina Mohammed respectively.

CHAPTER CHAIRMANS OPENING REMARKS


The Chairman welcomed and appreciated all members physically present at the
meeting and thanked members for coming and hoped that more members are on
their way to come. He apologized for starting the meeting late. The Chairman
gave members two minutes to go through the minutes of August, 2015 meeting.
READING, CORRECTION AND ADOPTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTE
The minutes of the previous meeting was read, observation and corrections were
taken and minutes was adopted by motions moved and seconded by Engr. Ben

TECHNICAL PAPER/ 2015 AutoEI Programme


The technical paper for the month was presented by Engr. Ibrahim Usman, it was
on Wankel Engines, With Engr. Ben Nwude chairing the session, the presenter
aside from giving a power point presentation on this type of engine also enriched
it with a simulator that demonstrated the practical working of this engine. It was
a session that interested members given the level of interest it generated and
the questions that were asked.

The chairman promised to ensure that henceforth every meeting has a technical
paper presentation, in the absence of which there must be a discussion topic.

ACTIVITIES UPDATE
FRSC and VIO remain to be visited as scheduled visits could not take
place, Engr. Alilu was mandated to write FRSC and VIO officially on
proposed visits.

TRICYCLE (KEKE-NAPEP)
The chairman reported that Engr. Ben Oseghale had established contacts with
FRSC and the Kaduna state government on the issues regarding the tricycle. He
will invite all stakeholders for a meeting to present the problems with the trycicle
(Keke NAPEP) including issues of its 2-stroke engine, issues with its operations,
handling and maintenance. Engr Ben Nwude suggested that Engr Oseghale first
present his paper to the chapter before its public presentation after which the
chapter should source for funds to organize a workshop on it (maybe in Kaduna
polytechnic).

PUBLIC LECTURES
Sequel to Engr. Ben Nwude public lecture Infrastructure Development in
Nigerian steel sector, a member Mr. Emmanuel Ojo reported that he has a
reporter friend that he had contacted and who had agreed to interview Engr.
Nwude on his lecture and publish same in his newspaper as a way of publicizing
the chapter. This interview could not be organized as scheduled, however Mr. Ojo
would still contact the reporter while chapter chairman will contact Engr. Nwude
to arrange for the interview.

NEWSLETTER
The e-newsletter for August 2015 was circulated accordingly, meanwhile Engr.
Nwude FNSE, suggested that he would be ready to edit the e-newsletter prior to
publication, he also called on members to enrich the e-newsletter by sending
information and write-ups on automotive industry.

No Dues were collected at the meeting.
Any Other Business (AOB)
The chapter chairman spoke of the committee he had formed and
mandated to fashion out the way forward for the chapter. They included
Engr. Ben Oseghale (chairman), Engr. I. Zamani, Engr. Alilu Ibrahim, Engr.
Ifeanyi Nwogbo and Mr. Emmanuel Ojo. They are to articulate the vision,
mission and shared values for the chapter. They would formulate the
detailed chapter program for the year, including ideas for revenue
generation etc. they are to submit their report in a months time.
The presentation of certificate of tenure was suspended till when a larger
attendance is recorded.
The information on the forthcoming AGM is conflicting in the fliers. The
correct information are: Venue Aguyilo multi-purpose center 54 Nnamdi
Azikiwe express by-pass, Date: 22-23 rd sept 2015. Time: 10am.
The formation of a welfare committee was suggested by the chairman, he
particularly wants the acknowledgement of member birthdays every
month as a way to motivate them. After a debate on the pros and cons of
a welfare committee, the hose resolve that the executive should handle
the issue using their discretion. The birthday acknowledgement will begin
from next meeting.

STI project, it would also want to articulate ways of taking advantage of


the initiative.

ADJOURNMENT/CLOSING
Meeting adjoined at 1.45pm with motions moved and seconded by Engr. Alilu
Ibrahim and Emmanuel Ojo respectively. Engr. Raymond Ikeleji said the closing
prayers.
