Option #2:

Popsicle Stick Bridge Construction

A bridge project is completed in two sections... the construction and the written
presentation.
Construction dimensions:
The bridge must be a minimum length of 70 cm.
The total height of the bridge cannot exceed 30 cm.
The total outside width of the bridge cannot exceed 15 cm and cannot be less
than 5 cm wide.
The bridge must have a minimum opening in the top (not the bridge deck), 5 cm
by 5 cm is adequate to permit a testing apparatus to be applied to the center of
the bridge deck.
The bridge deck must be flat and continuous to allow a test vehicle to pass over
the bridge.

Construction materials:
Popsicle sticks
White paper glue
Sticks can be cut but not painted. The dyed sticks are acceptable.
Written Presentation: On a piece of Bristol board, you must include the following...
A diagram of your bridge drawn to scale. Be sure to include your scale and fully
label your diagram.
The name of the type of bridge you constructed (ex. Truss, cantilever, etc.)
An explanation of why you believe your design is best. Include a scientific
principle such as compression and tensile forces.
Pictures of real life bridges that are the same type as the one you constructed.
Be sure they are labelled (name and location).
