Eternal Life
December 18- December 24

Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and
his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is
flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go
well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and
how much I love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and
my soul.
In Jesus name, Amen

I have eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:4
God commands His angels to guard and protect me.
Psalms 91:11
I will tell others the good news.
Luke 2:10

Through faith in Jesus Christ we have eternal life with Him.

Romans 6:4: Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the
glory of the Father; we too may live a new life.

At Christmas thousands of trees called evergreens or pines are cut down

and brought inside our homes. This is a tradition that dates back a
thousand years, but it has only been a part of Christmas for believers for
less than 200 years. It started out as a pagan (or false belief) that a tree
that stayed green during the winter when everything else outside was
dying or dead would bring good luck and strength to the people in the
house.
But in the 7th century, there was a monk from England named
St. Boniface who regularly made trips across Europe as a missionary.
Through his efforts for Gods work many Christian churches were
established throughout France and Germany. The legend goes that on
one of his trips he came across a group of men who had gathered around
a huge oak tree and in the middle of these men they held a little boy
whom they were getting ready to offer as a sacrifice to their false god.
Boniface saw what was happening and demanded that the men let the boy
go. When they refused to let the boy go, St. Boniface went over to the
oak tree and struck the trunk with his fist. Immediately the tree began to
shake and fell to the ground. The men were amazed and believed they had
seen a miracle!
As the dust settled, a tiny fir tree became visible just behind where the
mighty oak had stood. The priest pointed out to the men that this
evergreen tree was like the Tree of Life. He told them that this tree
which even the winter cold could not kill stood for the eternal life that
Christ offers to those who will believe in Him. Pointing to the triangular
shape of the tree he told them how all three points were part of the one
tree, like the Trinity of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
After seeing the power of a loving Father for a child, hearing the truth of
the gospel these men gave their lives to Christ on the spot where the tiny
evergreen fir tree grew. As you admire the Christmas trees adorned with
lights remember and share the promise of eternal life through faith in
Jesus. Even the lights on the tree represent the light that the baby in the
manger brought to a dark and hopeless world.
