Fabrication Capacity:

Pressure vessels: - SSY is licensed to manufacture pressure vessels up to 50

cubic metre capacity and 15 bar pressure. Larger sizes can be catered for with
design approval by certifying body.

Ships and Boats - Vessels of up to 120 m length.
4.
Licensed to design and build gantry cranes up to 50 ton capacity.

Pressure piping and general piping as required, carbon and stainless steel.

INFORMATION
GENERAL
SAFETY:
1.
Saigon Shipyard has a written policy on safety based upon the standards
required by the British Health & Safety Executive.
2.
The safety policy of the company is enforced on all work sites.
3.
All employees are provided with personal protective equipment inclusive of

overalls, steel toe cap boots, hard hats, safety glasses and equipment / job
related safety equipment as necessary.
4.
Each project has a designated "Safety Officer".
5.
There is a single point person responsible for the company's safety program.
6.
Training for employees is ongoing by way of First Aid / Fire Fighting and
Personal Safety Awareness.
7.
A copy of Saigon Shipyards Safety Policy / Procedure can be provided as

required.
QUALITY ASSURANCE / QUALITY CONTROL:

1.
Our company has a written and stated principle relating to QA / QC.

The QA system commenced preparation as of 1st September 1997. The Policy
and Procedures are being written and implemented continuously.
SSYs system has first been accredited to ISO 9000-1994 in 2002. It was later
updated and accredited to ISO 9001-2000 by BVQI in 2004.
2.
We have individuals responsible for QA/QC on each project.
3.
We provide specialized training for workers on an ongoing basis.
4.
We have an internal craft certification program. Qualification by our company

grading scheme uses in house training and external qualification of welders by
certified and approved agencies, all working to International Standards.
5.
The standards our company usually works to is ASTM / ASME code for
industrial projects and international classification societies for vessel and
offshore structures. We may work to different standards if and when required by
our Clients.
INFORMATION
PROCUREMENT:
1.
Our company has procurement and expediting expertise within and though out
Vietnam and S. E. Asia.
2.
Our procurement services purchase Material and Equipment from Europe and
Asia. We have now a good network of contacts which we can use to get
assistance on all major projects.
3.
Our design engineering for marine and offshore is supported by our engineering
offices in Singapore and Australia.
4.
Our procurement section tracks all purchases via fax, telephone and email
communication. Store and stock controls maintain identifying accountability and
traceability.
ENVIRONMENT:
Saigon Shipyard has undertaken two environmental studies for submission at the
time of seeking State Licenses. Both these documents are available for inspection at
our office.

Investment in Vietnam.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Saigon Shipyard Limited was initially established as a Joint Venture Company in
conjunction with the Peoples Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Department of Industry
in April, 1989 obtaining its official Operating License on the 2nd August of that year.
In May 1995 the company was approached by the Peoples Committee of Ho Chi
Minh City and offered the opportunity to become 100% foreign owned. The process
of change to achieve this 100% ownership was completed and a new license issued
as of 5th December 1996.
The company is now a 100% foreign investment owned by Asian Technical
Maritime Services.
The company head office and yard facilities are located at No. 99 Quarter 3, Thanh
My Loi Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The yard facility at Cat Lai covers approximately 120,000 square metres of land and
enjoys a water frontage of approximately 340 metres on Dong Nai River at the
entrance to Saigon Port. These facilities are some 40 minutes drive from the centre
of Ho Chi Minh City.
As of today, the shipyard facilities comprise of
A yard, with an accessible working area in excess of 80,000 square metres.
Office and administration building.
Open yard for new constructions up to 110m length.
A 30 m long quay on Dong Nai river, suitable for vessels of up to 5 m draft (

subject to dredging ) and allowing loading and delivery of oversize
equipment by barge to any port of Ho Chi Minh City.
Two slip ways capable of launching vessels up to 50 metres length with a

weight of 350 tons.
Workshops: ( Total: 7600 m )

o No 1 fabrication workshop, 15 m wide x 96 m long, incorporating a 5 ton
gantry crane.
o No 2 fabrication workshop, 15 m wide x 96 m long, incorporating a 5 ton
gantry crane
o No 3 fabrication workshop, 15 m wide x 96 m long, incorporating a 10
ton overhead crane and a 5 ton gantry crane above a CNC
Oxy/Acetylene/Plasma combined cutting machine.

o No 4 fabrication shed, 15 m wide x 96 m long incorporating 02 off 10

ton overhead crane and heavy construction plant.
o No 1,2,3 and 4 workshops are linked together with other annex
workshops and stores to form a total covered working area of some
6,000 square metres.
o Painting workshop, 85 m long x 12 m wide and a 5 ton hoist travelling
on monorail.
o Mechanical workshop, 10 m x 48 m, incorporating a 3 ton overhead
crane.
o Carpentry workshop, 300 square metres.
The company is managed by a combination of expatriate and local personnel and
follows the basic principals of undertaking works to be performed to international
standards.
These operations offer multi-faceted services to international companies seeking to
establish a presence in Vietnam or alternatively considering Vietnam as an economic
and reliable fabrication base for products to be delivered around the world.
Our marine/offshore construction and industrial services are being actively marketed
to international clients in countries such as Germany, Austria, France, Australia,
Taiwan, Cambodia, Singapore and ASEAN nations, export accounting for more than
50% of our turnover.
Since its inception in 1989, Saigon Shipyard Limited has systematically undertaken
the refurbishment and upgrading of the existing facilities, which were originally
owned by the Vietnamese partner.
SSY is continuously improving its working capabilities both quantity wise and quality
wise to be able to always give a better answer to the requirements of our customers.
We understand the relation with our customers as a partnership and focus on their
satisfaction.

INFORMATION
MARINE & OFFSHORE CONSTRUCTION

From its inception, the company has continuously been involved in the construction
of marine vessels.
Survey boat, ferry boats, landing crafts and motor yachts are being built to Bureau
Veritas and Lloyds Register of Shipping Classification Rules and International
Standards.
The development of our marine activities is planned towards maintenance and
construction of special vessels, such as middle size Work Boats, Patrol Boats and
Yachts, both in steel and aluminium. It will be simultaneous with the improvement of
our Shipyards capabilities which we plan as follows:
availability of a total new construction facility capable of undertaking heavy

steel fabrication works.
availability of a new construction facility dedicated to aluminium constructions.
availability of a repair and maintenance facility capable of undertaking the full

scope of marine vessel/offshore construction. This will require construction of
docking facilities and extension of existing berthing capacity.
As planned from the very first idea of what was to be Saigon Shipyard, we want to
increase our exposure to major marine/offshore infrastructure development projects.
In this regard, we plan to use the development of both our marine and industrial
activities to create the infrastructure of an Industrial & Marine Complex to attract and
service onshore and offshore Petroleum related Industries.

INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION
The development of the Vietnamese economy bringing a flow of foreign companies
in need of industrial services to international standard triggered the diversification of
our activities towards industrial works.
Making use of a full range of skills initially developed in shipbuilding works, we have
successfully developed our activities to become a reputed and reliable partner for
industrial construction.
Saigon Shipyard Ltd. Is regularly involved on industrial construction sites as well as
on fabrication of equipment to be delivered at our yard or shipped for export.
SSY has now the capability to offer full facilities for:
Design, fabrication and erection of storage tanks, pressure vessels and

steel structures.
Pre-fabrication and installation of piping systems.
Fabrication of industrial equipment.
Total services for skilled welding in all disciplines, mig, tig, pulse mig, arc
and sub-arc and for all metals ( Steel, Stainless steel, Alloys, Duplex,
Aluminium )
Provision of fully qualified mechanical and electrical installation teams to

establish high technology facilities in Vietnam.
Provision of blasting and painting services inclusive of specialised

coatings.
Up grading of the companys fabrication capabilities has recently been implemented

with the expansion of our covered working area and installation of gantry or overhead
cranes in all our workshops.
The following main pieces of equipment are now available in our yard:
A CNC cutting machine complete with plasma and oxy systems,
Plate Bending Roller,
4 metres x 400 ton Beam Press,
3 metre Guillotine for Shearing Plate up to 20mm thickness,
Radial Arm Drill,
Horizontal Boring Machine, Lathes and
Specialized welding and burning equipment.

This equipment / machinery is fully operational and maintained under a planned

maintenance system.
The open Industrial Activities Yard, adjacent to the mechanical workshop,

120mt x 40 metres, is utilized for repair works and oversize equipment fabrication
activities.
For these fabrications as well as for construction site activities, we make use of our
mobile cranes as follows:
Brand New 250 Ton crawler crane.

Pinguelly 60 Ton crawler crane.
P&H 25 Ton crawler crane.
Linkbelt 35 Ton truck crane.

Maz 10 ton hydraulic truck crane.
Potain foldable 3 ton tower crane on rails.

Russian 8 ton tower crane on rails.
The Industrial Activities Yard has a waterfront length of approximately 50 metres,

and is equipped with a quay of 30 m long from which we can load out our oversized
products onto barges for delivery to nearby ports, thus making the whole process of
delivery FOB very economic compared to road transportation.
