Introduction
The objective of this research is to discover the implication and sense of Social Design through
design research, examine suitable approaches for fieldwork research within this background, and

diverse cultures and norms that are being followed, with different people from all over the world
having different societies. The motive of this paper is to develop the community and social
change in the particular area of London and for this purpose I have travelled to Middlesex,
London in order to recognise and observe the people and culture, its architecture, languages
which are spoken, and the place itself.

My Design Journey
I choose London for my social design journey project as I was very fascinated by the art and
architecture of the city. Therefore, when I got the chance to travel the city for my college project
I immediately arrange my travel document and decided to travel to London. However, the issue
for me was to select a place where I could find all the details I want to cover for my project. I go
through Google map and images for the purpose of choosing an appropriate place for my project.
I go through images and details of many different places in London like Acton, Greenwich,
Ickenham, and other. But I stuck on one image of Middlesex in the Night light and it was so
beautiful that I decided to go to Middlesex to live with my aunt for the sake of my project. And
all I can say about this is that it was the best opportunity I got in my life time. I took my camera,

Laptop, and data storage devices such as USB and external memory media devices with me to
take pictures of different places and events I have to cover in the next three days.

I took the bus so that I might take the same photos on my way to Middlesex and I take amazing
shots while on the way to Middlesex. I got in my aunts place by the time of dinner therefore; I
left with no time to survey or observe people. Lately, at that night I planned by the schedule of
my three day travel trip and I decided to interview some people living in Middlesex as it might
help me with my product. While I was on the way to Middlesex I observed that likewise every
place in London there is a historical perspective on the architecture of Middlesex. I took me three
day to go through the lifestyle, language, culture, and architecture of Middlesex and then I
decided to observe these factors to work on it later.

The rest of the history and details are available on internet but seeing and observing things was a
new experience for me. It was the only purpose that I took a three day break for visiting the place
personally. All I can say about my journey to Middlesex is that it was the best adventure and an
opportunity for me to explore Middlesex personally for my social design project.

London
While researching for my project I came to know about an interesting fact about London city that
the city is a merger of two small cities into one and now the city plays an important role in the
development of the country. The city is split into two different portions, a part of it is the heart of
business, and financial activities while on the other hand, the other part of the city is based on
parliaments and government officials what controls the working and administration of the city.
Along with this the residence of the royal family also lives in the other part of the city. Therefore,

in my opinion the city is the best blend of history and modern art that make it attractive for the
people.

While on the other hand, London is one of the best places to live and travel. It is because that the
city is covered with natural beauty and the weather of the place makes it more fascinating to
nature and architecture loving people. The weather of the city remains moderate throughout the
year with unexpected rains and unexpected change in the weather make people more snooping in
visiting the place once in a life time. When I was asked to select a city for my design
development project I decided to travel my own city in order to explore it more closely.

The weather of the city was the most favourable time to visit the city with all the equipment with
me. I took a long route bus by the time of 5:00 Pm to see the city in the daytime and at night
time. Londoners (as the people living in London are called) are history and classic lover. It is the
only reason that I was not surprised when I see a group of men wearing bowling hats with
complete formal getup. I think it was Queens birthday parade in which those men were
participating.

In my opinion, London is one of the cities that have reserved their history by this time because it
is said for the people living in London that they have very classic taste and choice and they have
proven the thing by preserving their history in almost every aspect of their life. Besides, the
residence of Queen in the city makes it more prominent for the visitors, traveller and the people
living their more attractive to visit and to explore. On the contrary, I saw a very fusion take of
people when it comes to the architecture of the city. There were many modern constructed
buildings like city hall, Tower Bridge, the London eye, the Gherkin, and other.

Whereas, I ways any historic buildings like St Pauls Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Jewel
House and other. It was one of the attractive factors for me to stick to my decision on travelling
from London to Middlesex by bus. It provided me the opportunity to look at my city from closer
sight that was nearly impossible by staying at my actual routine. All I can say that I enjoyed my
trip from London to Middlesex very much and by talking to many travellers beside me, I got to
know many facts like London was the first city to introduce underground railway to the world

people living in London are art and music as there are more than 100 theatres in the city which
affect 70% of the box-office revenue in the city.
