Four avocado varieties were introduced in 2012. Among six lines from
farmers analysed, Li Hsiu Yun and Cheng Yu Pin both were worth
further evaluating.
Eleven previously introduced avocado lines were evaluated in 2012.
Among lines, Hon Chie Trau with 816 g was highest in fresh
weight.
Among 11 seedling lines selected in CAES, 84O24G was highest in
fresh weight, Ws1b4 longest in fruit length, 84O24G highest in
fruit diameter, Ws1b4 highest in flesh ratio and Ws2e29 was
highest in crude fat ratio. Promising Lines of Nws1c1
Nws1c2Nws1c3 Nws1c10 and Nws1i4 all have high fresh
ratio and crude fat ratio, and both ratios were respectively higher than
73% and 11%. According to fruit characteristics, Nws1c10 and
Ws2e29 would be promising new varieties and worth further evaluating.
Seven white sapote seedling lines were introduced in 2012. Among
those lines, WS2B2 with 171.03g was highest in fruit weight, while
WS3F14with 86.88% was highest in fruit flesh ratio.
Fruit characteristic of nine white sapote varieties was investigated,
and variety Candy was highest both in fruit weight and flesh ratio
respectively.
Among eight white sapote varieties, flowering time of Max golden,
was earliest, while that of W2, Candy, and Lemon gold and
Mcdill was latest.Duration of flowering of Max golden was
longest among varieties.
