Influence the acknowledgement and reporting of unsafe acts
Learn from the circumstances of each report and reduce risk of future occurrence of
losses
Identify undesired or substandard acts/behaviors/practices and then Intervention
to give feedback to either encourage desired acts/behaviors/practices to continue
or to correct substandard acts/behaviors/practices

Who Should Attend ?
Any employee who is accountable for the implementation of the QHSE
Management System and the QHSE programs. This includes, but is not
limited to, supervisors, and as a guideline includes any employee who
in his job assignment has the responsibility for a group of employees.
LPT Leaders and selected LPT members can attend this course.

Objective of seminar are :
- To provide skills to implement the QHSE Management System and
QHSE programs
- To provide all participants with knowledge of and hands on
experience with fundamental Management tools such as Hazard
Identification and Risk Control, Inspections, accident investigation, and

How to Manage Hazards


Incidents will not occur if the FIRST person to see the
hazard takes action to fix the hazard.
Possible Action an individual can take includes:

Physically remove the hazard


Erect sign post/barriers
Communicate to work team

Stop the activity!


Use appropriate equipment/tools/PPE
Follow the procedure
Report it in Quest

How to Manage Risks

Hazard Identification and Risk Management


involves three major steps:
1. Identification of Hazards
2. Assessment of Risk
3. Control of Risk (prevention & mitigation)

Several tools exist to aid in each of these steps. The


following slides provide examples of these.

Note: when considering hazard identification and


assessment of risk always consider both the SQ and
HSE exposures
