Chaotic and hyper chaotic systems are important especially for applications that require complexity of the dynamics.
Such as secure communications, information processing, cryptosystems, nonlinear oscillator circuits, network security,
lasers, and data encryption.
The use of chaotic systems in cryptography has been extensively investigated.
Most analog chaotic cryptosystems are secure communication systems based on synchronization of the sender and the
receiver chaotic systems,
where a signal is transmitted over a public channel from the sender to the receiver, and decryption of the plain-signal is
realized via chaos synchronization at the receiver end.
Since many early chaos-based secure communication systems are found insecure against various attacks.
How to design robust control for chaos based secure communication systems against the existing attacks is always a real
challenge to be explored.
Chaotic oscillation has been found in many nonlinear systems, such as nonlinear circuits, permanent magnet synchronous
motors, power transformers, power systems, etc.
The power system is a highly nonlinear dynamical system and when the power system operates near the stability boundary,
a sudden disturbance may induce chaotic oscillation.
Chaotic oscillation is especially harmful as it can damage the power equipment, shrink the region of stability, result in
angle instability, voltage collapse and evened up with a catastrophic blackout.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to study the control method to suppress chaotic oscillation in a power system.
Little work has been done to eliminate the chaotic oscillation in fundamental power system (FPS) model.
Some researchers are trying to suppress chaos in FPS by introducing a simple nonlinear control law.
However, the chaotic attractor still emerges for a large range of control gain values, which is needed to improve further
using appropriate control.
A depth review on theoretical background of PLL/FLL and non-contact type bio-signal measurement based on Doppler
effect.
Introduce a scheme/algorithm based on frequency locking technique that can process the real-time incoming signals.
The scheme should be able to extract the signal in noise environment and at low voltage level (bio-signal).
Design the proposed scheme using MATLAB/Simulink.
The proposed scheme will compare with the existing techniques.

communication security and data encryption while information processing.
Further, chaos based secure communication systems can be used in the complex dynamical networks like
www (World Wide Web), cellular of mobile network, smart grid, etc.

Piyush P Singh

Damage the power equipment, shrink the region of stability, result in angle instability in the power system
may be improved.
Voltage collapse which is even end up with a catastrophic blackout may be avoided the control method to
suppress chaotic oscillation in a power system.

Piyush P Singh

The proposed scheme will be outperformed some of the existing techniques based on overall achievement;
high accuracy, range, SNR tolerance, susceptibility, reduce complexity.

NOTE
Scope and Expected Outcome:
Doppler Effect is the change in frequency or wavelength of a wave for an observer moving relative to its source. It was first proposed by Austrian physicist Christian Doppler in 1842. Later on, first non-contact type vibration measurement based on Doppler effect was proposed by Howard C. Hardy in 1956. Since then, Doppler effect has been
employing in many of the non-contact type vibration applications such as detecting and characterizing the particle size in the fluid, proximity, fracture of solid materials, analyzing of robotic movement, motor speed, heart wall vibration, blood velocity, bone fracture, tissue muscle etc. In non-contact type vibration measurement, high frequency
carrier signal is used as to sense the vibrating body. Then, the Doppler phase shift occurred in carrier signal contains the information of vibrating object. Therefore, it is first and foremost to extract the Doppler signal from the carrier signal.
A synchronizing technique will be proposed based on frequency-locked loop (FLL) to extract Doppler signal. From the extracted Doppler signal, vibration parameters such as amplitude, frequency and phase can be estimated. The frequency-locked loop (FLL) scheme will be analyzed based on the different parameters for certain applications.
Software and hardware implementation:
The scheme will require MATLAB/Simulink with DSP builder tools as a design platform. Quartus II software will convert the Simulink design into VHDL code that will program the FPGA chip. Processing and experimental validation requires high speed DSP processor such as Atera Stratix series FPGA board. But, in the case of these hardware
limitations, most of the work will be carried out in MATLAB/Simulink platform.
