Your motivation should be expressed by writing a motivation letter of maximum

400 words. The letter is to at least answer the following three questions:
My curiosity for the economic phenomena soon became a passion for studying
their causes and effects, and fascinated me to the point I decided I wanted to
form my career in the field. Later on, after visiting the campus of the Erasmus
University, taking part in lectures and discussing with students, my decision
became clear.
1. Describe your personal experience with people from different
(international) backgrounds and what you learned from this experience.
My first international student exchange program, Symbols connecting people,
in Tortona, Italy initiated me in the culture and the educational system, by living
with a family and attending classes among natives. In twelve days, I was
surprised that, besides sharing the same Latin origin with Romania, the people
are similarly kind and open, even though Italians have a significantly more
visible civic spirit and attachment for democratic values. Additionally, the seven
days Learn Liberty seminar in Gummersbach, Germany helped me better
understand, through debates and interactive lectures, how people from ten
different countries reason and express themselves, being influenced by their
culture.
2. Within the IBEB programme we aim for a mixture of students from
different backgrounds. How do you plan to integrate with students from
other countries? Please specifically explain what you will actually do to
integrate with your prospective fellow students. If you already have
experience on this topic, describe what you have done in the past.
As a member of the extended Romanian national debating team I participated in
several international competitions, which made me realise that integration in
dependant on learning from each other. As a communicative person, I tried
every time to initiate conversations with people with different cultural
backgrounds, coming from the United States, Nigeria, Japan or Argentina and to
form strong friendships. By exchanging information about our values, traditions
and experiences from our native countries I understood better what influenced
our beliefs. During university, I am determined to use the insight gained and to
continue learning, in order to help demolish the cultural walls that have been
wrongly built.
3. What are the main three arguments which made you decide that studying
IBEB at Erasmus School of Economics is the right choice for you?
a) One of the best programs in the world in what concerns economics
and I extremely appreciate the fact that is contains business
economics as well. Good education, good teachers, nice program +
+ fost acolo

b) International environment with a lot of students from all parts of the

world
c) City
For me, one of the decisive arguments for choosing the IBEB program is the
prestige gained by the quality of education, proven by the international
university hierarchies and the high qualifications of the teachers, cumulated
with the specifics of the programme. The assembly of two already
interconnected fields, Economics and Business, in concordance with the
requirements of the global market, guarantee a spectre of fulfilling careers.
Secondly, the international environment I have experienced by visiting the
University appeals to me for the possibility to learn both from the scholars and
peers. Lastly, the city of Rotterdam meets all criteria for a plentiful professional
development, namely the business and trade expansion, which sets an
atmosphere that encourages transposing what is learned into practice.
I hope to have convinced you that I am a well-suited candidate to face the
challenges that I will come across and that my admission can only bring benefits
to both sides involved. I eagerly await your response.
