About the Professional Year:
1. What has been the best part of the Professional Year so far?
Hello!!
My name is Abu Khan and I'll be your colleague for the next 12 weeks of Professional Year (PY). I am from
Bangladesh and my native language is Bengali. I had been brought up at Dhaka, the capital city of
Bangladesh. Dhaka is the most populous city in Bangladesh and the tenth-largest city in the world, with
a metropolitan area of 14 million inhabitants. The city constitutes the political, cultural and scientific heart of
the nation. Dhaka at present also considered as the hub worldwide ICT outsourcing.

I have some minor experience of working in IT field. I have worked as data entry operator of Tally software at
Titas Gas T&D Ltd at Bangladesh. However, after completing my professional year I have a strong desire to
build my career in this industry. I have to launch my career as IT helpdesk assistant or similar role and in
future I will be able to work as a business analyst or project manager. At present, I am working as a field
manager for a reputed energy retailer company to earn my bread and butter. During intern time I will work
there for 3 days; Wednesday to Saturday.

I am proud to mention that, I have got the opportunity to pursue my internship at Murdoch Children Research
Inst. which is one of the top ranked research institutes in the world. I am starting my internship from 27 th of
October 2014 and will finish on 27 th of January 2015. There I have to work 9 to 5 pm and 3 days in a week i.e.
24 hours per week. I will be first line tele-consulting point for IT service desk calls. Also I will make
management alert about the emerging trends and incidents. In addition to that, I will apply diagnostic utilities
to aid in trouble shooting.

The best part so far in my professional year is that, I have explored my potentiality and strengths as well as
improved my communication skills. now I observe, listen, speak up and ask for clarifications which improves
my communication skills.
Looking forward to work and learn together. Good luck.

Results and Discussion

Journaling is a good practice while completing internship in any professional field. It includes the daily

the solutions they made for those problems. This journal then helps them to solve similar problem in future.

(3) Consciousness: professional reflective journal can help a professional to build consciousness through
investigating their work history.
