As an future educator, I am really glad to encounter this type of activities because

it enhances my communication skills. And I observe that every person that I interview

has a different mind sets in terms of their view points in traditional and progressive
curriculum. And I am very thankful because I gain more information all about it and this
information is very helpful when Im already in the field of teaching.

Activity 2: Research on the differences of the traditional and

progressive curriculum. Accomplish the chart given below.
Write the similarities at the canter and the differences on each
side.

My personal Insights:
As a future education it is our duty to research and know all about the things
that are useful in curriculum. From the chart above it has really big changes from

traditional and progressive curriculum. But it has a similarities also that will never
change. And by this chart the school will know the shortage of their institution.

Activity 3 : Call up your friends from their Education Institutions. Find out what is
their own point of view of
curriculum. Put a check mark on the

My Insights
Every school has standards there and the students who were already
enrolled here has a different attitudes and cultures . As you see in the chart the
schools has different name there were universities and foundation colleges. And
they used different curriculum but mostly in the chart they are using progressive
curriculum, which means their curriculum was better than before and aligned in
modern world.

Activity 3: Research in the Library and Look for a topic about

the role of a teacher as a curricularist. Complete the template
below.
Research Title: TEACHER AS CURRICULARIST
Researcher: JANESA C. SARNO
Findings: (Write the salient forms in bulleted form).
Teacher is a curricularist because he/she is :
*PLANNER- plans the curriculum. A good curriculum has to be
planned. It is the role of the teachers to make a yearly
,monthly or daily plan curriculum.
*INITIATOR- to start. There will be many constraints and
difficulties in doing things first or leading, but a transformative
teacher will never hesitate to try something.
Field Study 4 : Exploring the Curriculum

*IMPLEMENTOR- implements curriculum. The curriculum

always dynamic; hence keep on changing. A good teacher
therefore innovates the curriculum.
*EVALUATOR- evaluates the curriculum

My Reflections/Insights

Aware of the roles of the teachers as a curricularist,

How do you perceive your role as a curricularist?

For me, it is a great job to be a curricularist. Every human being in some or other
way is a curricularist as the work of it is to guide, plan in a decent manner, also to
implement it in a best way. A teacher, scientist and many other professional do
the same.
