MINUTES OF THE

REGULAR MEETING OF THE ANTWERP TOWHSHIP BOARD

THURSDAY JULY 10, 2001
7:00 PM

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor Daniel J. Ruzick.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was given.
Board Members Present: Bruce Cutting, Ronald Derhammer, Virg Hendrickson, Bonnie Osborne,
and Daniel J. Ruzick
Board Member Absent: None.
Also Present:

Nine guests.

Motion by Osborne, second by Derhammer to approve the agenda as presented with the following
additions. 1. d Treasure on Choice of Banks to use. 2. e Notice of Election
All voted in favor.
Motion carried.
Motion by Cutting, second by Osborne to approve the minutes of the June 12, 2001 meeting as
presented.
All voted in favor.
Motion carried.

New Business:
a.
Motion by Derhammer, second by Hendrickson to grant final approval by Powell Custom
Homes, LLC for Birmingham Meadows Subdivision located at 53325 CR 657, Paw Paw,
MI 49079. Property number 80-02-010-008-00, tax plate number 146, in section 10 and is
zoned Medium Density Residential with stipulation that the lighting be completed and as
discussed at meeting, will give Virg Hendrickson authority to sign final plat after the work
completion of the Road Commission.
Roll call vote: Derhammer-yes, Cutting-yes,
Ruzick-yes, Osborne-yes and Hendrickson-yes.
Motion carried.
b.

Steve Smith from Van Buren County brought out a new book and briefly explained it. He
will be handing these out to the different Townships.

c.

Mark DuBay Letter/Attorney for Lawrence Township regarding Lakeview Hospital. No

action taken.

d.

Motion by Cutting, second by Derhammer to approve the choice of banks for the year
2001/2002 as follows:
Standard Federal
Old Kent Bank
National City
Kalamazoo County
Shoreline Bank
Roll call vote: Hendrickson-yes, Osborne-yes, Ruzick-yes, Cutting-yes and Derhammeryes.
Motion carried.

Notice of Special Election for Francis Ryan Election date August 21 2001 at 2:01. Voters
will vote at the Village first and then come to Township.

f.

Motion by Derhammer, second by Cutting to proceed with Attorney on prosecution of Non

Licensed Builder McLemore Custom Woodworking. Approximately cost $1500 to $2000.

Recommendation from the committee on Antwerp Township, Antwerp Sunshine Librar y and
Mattawan Fire Department Bills. Motion by Cutting, second by Derhammer to accept bills for
payment in the amount of $136,794.09.
